I enjoyed this book for being a ya sci-fi book. I love this type of stuff. Hero is great she really is special she can hear voice that no one can. And to top it off she has a Fink, a six-hundred-kilogram, genetically engineered ruc-pard. Which I admit was confused about it at first. But those two are funny about food. Plus Fink is like a bodyguard.
When Hero starts starts at a school that she wants to, she thinks this is my chance to go outside our colony. Her mother doesn't tell her much and being a scientist she keeps her secrets. When Hero meets a few friends and realizes a secret that has been kept from her, she kind of goes head first into this. And there are illegal street racing and legal ones. And for Hero the only one she wants to do is the illegal one to find more information of what people are hiding from her and even her friends. I know I probably said to much and not enough at the same time but this book is so great. A rebellion and secrets and sci-fi what more do you need??

I give the book three stars. I am on the fence about the book and recommending. It. I had trouble keeping up with the terminology in the book. Some of characters in story need more development. However, I liked the plot because it brings up the philosophical arguments and controversies on genetics modification.
