I just realised I hadn't reviewed this anthology, which I received literally years ago! The forward and introduction are both worth reading in their own right, and I particularly enjoyed Lehman's section on Yeats. The poems in the anthology are very diverse in style, tone and subject matter - some I really enjoyed, some left me thinking and some left me cold! I do find this a great anthology to dip in and out of, and as almost all the poets were new to me it's a great resource for an English teacher.

I enjoyed reading the poems in this volume. I cannot take too much poetry in at one gulp, so I took them a few at a time, letting them wash across my brain and soaking up their essence.

As with any anthology, there were some pieces I liked better than others, but this was an excellent collection of verse. I found a few new poets to join my favorites list and read some poetry that I likely would never have seen otherwise.

I like to write poetry. But having said that I feel I am in a different dimension when I read through Best American Poetry 2016! There is so much talent here, all wrapped up in one convenient book, that once read from beginning to end, you could just start over, and over again. If you are a poetry lover you could get this book, the 2016, or really one from any year as they are always the cream of the crop! I envy every name in here.

A wonderful collection of poetry. I found myself adding many new poets to my to-read list.
