Beautiful setting with a lake where herons fish and where an old secret lies beneath the surface. Crime and suspense where the lady main character is threatened. Sweet romance where the handsome former Army Ranger goes to the rescue of the damsel in distress. Don't underestimate the damsel though! Ha!

A nice enough read. Perhaps a tad slow for me but I enjoyed the story in most parts. Love the relationship that Finn has with his brothers, whom I understand are the heroes in the earlier books.

This title can read as a standalone.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the review copy. This is my honest opinion.

I enjoyed reading this book. The McGregor brothers are my favorite so far in her series. This book was completely different from the other.

This time it´s time to Finn McGregor to make his appearance - and while he might be recuperating from his Ranger´s time, hurts and trauma - he can recognize an interesting woman very quickly. Even if meeting her might be while he mistakenly entered her cabin hearing her shrieks - to recognize that poor girl was just having the nightmare, not suffering the villains´attack.
Dana Lewis has her share of trauma to heal from, too. But the masculine presence of handsome guy might have its own healing potential.

The McGregor brothers are a force to be reckoned with. And I would like to stand to the challenge :)
But there is not so much of the challenge here, unfortunately. This one is not a mystery novel , but more of a human drama of conscience and bad choices in life. And I have a problem to believe the moral conflict there, there is too much of a stretch here. And while I am a big fan of the whirlwind romance, I have my issues there, too - I can believe the in fast love situation while the said couple is suffering some kind of life threatening circumstances, because this kind of threat can set your priorities clear very quickly. But here is nothing like that and I think that two hurt people would normally proceed with much more caution.

But having said all that, the McGregors feel right, and their women too. At least I enjoyed the happenings in the romance department :)

Hold onto your seat because this book takes off! The two main characters meet in an unconventional way while both seek solace at different cabins in the woods. As much as Dana wants to remain alone by the lake with the mysterious events occurring nearby she needs Finn's companionship.
Irene Hannon creates another whodunit to keep you up reading past your bedtime. If you are looking for a clean, mystifying novel with action Tangled Webs and the others in her Men of Valor series will fit your need.
I received a copy of Tangled Webs from NetGalley for my honest review which I have given.

Tangled Webs, the final book in Irene Hannon's Men of Valor series, was a very good romantic suspense. I liked the setting and the opening scene was crazy (I could really feel for the heroine, because it would be frightful for that to happen to someone).

The romance was sweet. I think because both characters were dealing with things, it made it even more romantic to see them start to fall for each other. The ending was also intense.

All in all, I loved this book. It was a phenomenal ending to the series and I can't wait to read Hannon's next suspense! I definitely recommend these books.

Irene Hannon never disappoints! This is by far one of my favorites. It was a quick read and hard to put down. I don't want to add a spoiler but there was a twist that had me gasping and wondering what would happen next! It was impossible to stop reading at that point! I had to know what the outcome was going to be!

Tangled Webs is a book that captures your attention and holds it until the last page. It is filled with action, suspense and romance.

Finn McGregor is enjoying some down time in a remote cabin when he hears screaming. He is a former Army ranger so his instincts to help kick in. He follows the screams to the next cabin and meets Dana Lewis. She is having a nightmare. As Finn and Dana get to know each other they realize they are both at a crossroads. Dana is recovering from a traumatic event and Finn is trying to heal from his own traumatic events and injuries. They find themselves attracted to one another and begin to get to know each other better.

Trouble begins when the Chief of police becomes desperate enough to blurry the line between what is legal and illegal. Soon he finds himself in over his head as he has to turn a blind eye to illegal activity to save himself. Soon Dana finds herself the victim of several crimes in an attempt to frighten her. Finn works hard to uncover who is scaring Dana, but what he uncovers puts himself in danger.

This book is well written and keeps you engaged in the story. This was the first book I had read in the series but I did not feel as though I had missed out on anything. I am planning on reading book 1 & 2 so that I can learn how Finn's brothers got to where they are in their lives.

Tangled Webs is a prime example of the well-crafted, clean romantic suspense I've come to expect from Irene Hannon: an honorable man, a woman in jeopardy, and a budding romance.

With a couple of twists in the well-honed formula, Ms. Hannon is able to keep even the familiar reader engaged. Since the hero, Finn McGregor, is "off duty" for the novel and in greater physical peril than pretty editor Dana Lewis, I was eager to see how the resolution would play out.

The banter and camaraderie among the McGregor brothers is fun. Al in all, an entertaining read with just the right blend of romance and suspense.

Tangled Webs brings the Men of Valor series to a close. In this final book our focus shifts to the baby of the family, Finn McGregor. If you read the first two books, Buried Secrets and Thin Ice, you've already become acquainted with Finn.

Finn was an Army Ranger for the last several years, but after a mission in the Middle East went bad he found himself without a definite career path. Knowing that he needs time to recuperate his brothers arrange for him to have some downtime at a friend's secluded cabin.

All seems peaceful and serine until a woman's screams pierce the night. That single event will change things for Finn in ways that he never imagined.

Dana Lewis is Finn's nearest neighbor and she's also recuperating at her family's cabin. She grew up spending lots of time at the cabin with her grandparents and it has always been a place of security and hope. Retreating here seemed to be the right thing to do but this time something is wrong.

I absolutely love Irene Hannon's romantic suspense books. This series has been especially intriguing because it involved three brothers that all have military careers. Each book can easily be read as a stand-alone title but if you plan on reading all of them definitely read them in order.

If your tastes lean towards suspense you won't be disappointed in this book or series. The action is fast and the characters are quite intriguing. Each of the situations are ones that we could easily read about in the headlines. I for one can't wait to see where her next series will take us.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
