This book is incredible and I am encouraging anyone and everyone to read this. with social media at an all time high, people present themselves one way but actually are completely opposite. People are constantly posting only the highs of life and not the real life scenarios. So many times, we can get caught up in the trap of comparison and competition. I encourage you to read this book to dive in more to what Lisa has to say more about all of this

Lisa Bevere has done it again. Another great book to help you with your walk with Christ. Lisa is a powerful speaker and teacher and her books reflect her vast knowledge of the Bible, Christ, and how to become a woman after God's own heart.

This book is full of truth. I had to read a little at a time to take it all in. Lisa Bevere has a gift for motivating women with God's word. Good stuff.

I really liked this book! I especially enjoyed the chapter on the Samaritan woman at the well with Jesus. Loved how Lisa shared her research on what the woman went on to do later in life. So fascinating! My least favorite chapter was on gender rival. Although I don't disagree with the author's stance, I just felt like the chapter was too long and repeated some things. Overall a great book that I would definitely recommend!

Without Rival is Lisa Bevere's latest book. She has a compelling ministry to women in the body of Christ. She tackles topics that disrupt the lives of women and deter them from the destiny they were born to fulfill. Her latest book illustrates the danger of competition, of comparison, and of feeling incompetent because you are busy looking at other women around you. She refocuses us on our relationship with God, Who is the author of our identity, and the designer of our destiny.

Bevere targets an obstacle in the heart of many women. She unveils how the enemy uses rivalry between women (even when it is only imagined) to derail us from the true calling of our lives. She uncovers the freedom that comes from this bondage of constant competition, of feeling insignificant, of feeling like we don't measure up to those we see around us.

When we follow the lead Lisa Bevere pioneers, we will find that we ARE enough, that we HAVE enough, and that we WILL finish the course God has mapped out for us. When you read this book, you will feel pressure and discouragement replaced with hope and energy. Go out and be all God created you to be, looking only to HIM to define you.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The world has so many conflicting messages about who and what we should be, especially for us women. Given so many recent political events regarding women and the incessant mommy wars, this book is more timely than ever. This book gives solid Biblical explanation of how God sees me, and not just in fluffy warm and fuzzy words. It doesn't shy away from the truth of my sinfulness, but it also doesn't drag my heart through the mud. Rather, it helps me see myself as a beloved creation, fashioned for beauty and nobleness. I wish I had read it years ago.

I gratefully received this book as an eARC from the author, publisher, and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Without Rival: Embrace Your Identity and Purpose in an Age of Confusion and Comparison by Lisa Bevere is the first book of Bevere's that I have read. Without Rival is a book selection of the Propel Women bookclub and this is why I choose to read it.

Lisa Bevere's Without Rival will probably appeal to women most but men should read it as well. Rivals is such an interesting subject. Bevere's book help us to overcome our feelings of rivalry towards others. What brings on these feelings of rivalry...the enemy of course. Seeing everyone as a rival is very limiting to our Christian life.

There are 10 chapters in Without Rival:

An Identity without Rival
Our Unrivaled God
A Promise without Rival
Don't You Dare Compare!
When You're Seen as a Rival
Gender without Rival
The Rivalry of Fear and Love
Deep Wells and Wishing Wells
A Daughter without Rival
A Life Unrivaled

Each chapter has discussion questions at the end. There are also discussion questions at the end of the book for each chapter but those questions pertain more to the videos that can be utilized in conjunction with Without Rival if you are doing a group bible study. Would this be a good book for a bible study? Definitely yes in my opinion.

Without Rival is a fascinating, uplifting and revealing book. I highly recommend it.
