Robert McCammon has been a favorite author of mine since high school, and one of my favorite literary tropes is 'the weird West', so seeing him take it on was a real joy for me! I really like Trevor, the vampire gunslinger, and this series' descriptions of old New Orleans evoked some of the best qualities of Anne Rice, so much so that a part of me kept wishing Lestat would appear (lol). He isn't needed though, as Trevor and his allies and enemies are more than enough to keep you hooked. My biggest complaint about this was that it was too short--I was ready for more as soon as I finished.
