**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This was a fairly quick read where our FMMC is not quite as she seems and Gavin shows his background fairly quickly.
Its a very fast moving book and our characters get together very quickly once they have been introduced.
Gavins world gets all but turned upside down when he meets Megan, but he knows who she is to him almost immediately and does what he can for her.
I enjoyed this book and love reading this author.

When I crave a good werewolf romance I have a few to-go authors to satisfy it. Eve Langlais is one of them. Unfortunately, this book didn't work for me. The twist could have been great, but it was unbelievable. I would have liked some hints before the big revelation, to make it more believable. I don't think there were any and when that big reveal came it just felt out of place and forced. I was reading the inner thoughts of our characters, so I expected to have a tiny hint about what truly happened. Even before that, I had some issues though. I found the book to be mediocre. Neither character had something that made them stand out and the story, in general, was not holding my interest. The shapeshifter element was not as prominent as I wanted. I felt like the story could work for any other genre of romance without making many, if any changes.

This book was a nice discovery in the realm of paranormal genre. It had all the ingredients for a good paranormal book, and a good series starter.
Gavin is super sexy and super smart. Very stubborn too, which I guess you have to be, if you're going to be a lawyer. I liked how confused by Megan and by the way he felt for her he was, but I also liked that he was really trying to make the entire situation better and to save her.
Megan was a mystery. While the book is told both from hers and Gavin's perspective, at times I felt just as confused and in the dark about Megan as he was. It isn't until towards the end that we get to understand exactly the what, why, and how of it all, and let me tell you, I was surprised. I was expecting some kind of twist, but definitely not that.
The book is pretty fast paced, and I enjoyed reading it. The werewolf mythology was interesting, especially with how they shift. I'm curious if other shapeshifters are affected the same as wolves. As I said, I had a moment of confusion towards the end, but I certainly liked the book enough to want to read more books from this author. And I'm super ecstatic that there are at least two more books in this series, since we all know how much I enjoy paranormal series. Definitely check this one out if you like paranormal romance.

Enjoyed the read. It was an. Easy fast relaxing book. Romance was just enough without being over the top

When Gavin first meets Megan, he knows he is in trouble. His wolf stands up and says "Mate" and it is all down hill from there.
Megan has been charged with killing her boss. She has no money and a public defender that wants her to plead guilty to murder when she didn't do it. So when she is given a recommendation to seek out Gavin's help she goes to his office. But on look at he extremely hot lawyer has her running the other way with him following.
As the two work to exonerate her from all charges the passion builds. But Gavin makes the mistake of not telling her who he is and now he must fight for his mate and convince her that they are the only ones for one another.
