Champagne! Interesting historical fiction that has a determined heroine and an interesting setting. It's a good read for fans of the genre.

I actually looked up Feininger champagne when I finished this book because I was so intrigued by the history of champagne making and I wanted to see if I could try some!

The story was slow to start, but once Isabelle took control of her life, it was such an fun and inspiring read. It was much lighter and cuter than I anticipated from a historical novel.

A few things, like Leon's parentage, were unnecessarily called into question and then never properly addressed leaving me wondering at the end why it was brought up at all, but the best was all of the history and research done providing the insight and details of champagne making as well as the inclusion of real-life major vineyards like Veuve Cliquot and Moet.
