If you happen to be in the mood for a few chuckles while you read this is a great book for you. Personally I love reading stories that give me the "chuckles" and Delores Fossen's humor in this story provides plenty of them. You have a tumor named Myrtle and a backpack named Tootsie Roll. When the heroine, Reese Stephens, aka Julia Child quit her job she told her boss, chef Dante she wished someone would crush his balls with a rusty garlic press. And when Reese's best friend, Jimena Martinelli saw a picture of the hero, Logan McCord, post one-night stand encounter with Reese, Jimena responded, "Yeah, he's hot. Like on a scale of one to ten - he's like a six-hundred kind of hot." And the chuckles just keep on coming.
We've met Logan McCord before in the previous books in the McCord Brothers series. He's the serious big brother who took responsibility for his younger siblings and the family business after the death of their parents in an auto accident. He's the staid, conservative type. Guess who sweeps him off his feet. Not so staid and conservative Reese Stephens. Maybe opposites attract - maybe not. There sure is a lot of resistance in this relationship. But Reese doesn't run and Logan loosens up. After trouble shows up in the form of Chucky Dayton and Reese's con artist mother, Vickie, Logan's ex-girlfriend, Helene and some sketchy "clowns" plus numerous blackmail attempts by various characters everything finally works out so there is a "happily-ever-after" ending to this story.
I was very impressed with the writing skills this author exhibited in the book. The storyline flowed well and was easy to follow. The characters are interesting and fun, not some cardboard cut-out boring characters. This book has been a great addition to the series, one that is a very enjoyable read.
