Wicked Summer is the second book in this series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone as I didn’t feel I didn’t understand anything due to not reading the first part.
The book is centred around The Rising Tides Inn on Cape Harriet where Mary is holding her sixtieth birthday week. Her three daughters are with her and her four grandchildren. All the women have secrets that come out one by one and there is a love story in there as well. The two eldest daughters Hyacinth and Iris were at times annoying as they bickered like hound children, there was only Poppy who seemed to be the peace maker. The book at times did become a little slow but picked up when secrets were exposed. I would definitely not read this book if I were hungry as there is a lot of scenes relating to the food that is being eaten and will make you hungry! I think probably best to read this on the beach whilst on an all inclusive holiday LOL.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Victory Editing for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

I've been trying to get through this book for months and haven't been able to do so. The characters feel forced and it feels like it was written by an older author trying to write much younger characters. It just wasn't believable to me and I wasn't transported the way I expected.
