Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place didn’t really sound like my normal kind of book, but the cover and the synopsis drew me in, so I decided to give it a chance. I really have a love/hate relationship with this book and I usually write longish reviews, but I’m just going to get straight to the point. Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place is a very long book and there are many different components to it and at first you’re wondering what’s going on, but it wasn’t that hard to follow along and it all started to make sense the more Ms. Black revealed to us. It was really fascinating and intriguing, I prefer my romances, but I also love history and this is a book with a lot of history. And despite its length, it really pulled me in and it wasn’t difficult to keep turning the pages. Although, Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place was very difficult to read at times, it was horrifying, infuriating, and it made my heart pound and tore it out at times. It surprised me in many ways and didn’t at all in others. I didn’t expect Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place to affect me so much and while I wasn’t surprised at the ending, I’m just left feeling sad and unsatisfied. That’s just me, it might not be the same for you, so if you like history, paranormal horror, and Shakespearean tragedies, then go ahead and read it and if you don’t, well I’ll leave that up to you. One thing is definitely for certain: Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place, is one book I will never forgot, not ever.
