I absolutely adore Emma Scott. She knows how to create a story but with amazing character to go with it. Definitely an author I’ll continue to read from.

I cannot read any more of these gut-wrenching, angsty romances; they are getting out of hand. None of it is realistic love, its dramatic. Seek therapy.

It has been awhile since a book devastated me. If you loved the Bright Side by Kim Holden or A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole, then this book is for you. But be prepared and have tissues near by.

Emma Scott is a newish author to me and so far everything that I have read I have LOVED!!!!!! Her ability to weave a tale of heartache and beauty is awe inspiring.

I love how she pulls you win from the beginning and then you can't put the book down. The choice of quotes woven into the story also help show the emotions so much more.

I Love how Dena's wisdom with her Rumi quotes helps shape the story and help us understand their moment so much more.

"That which is false troubles the heart, but truth brings joyous tranquility, " Rumi

From the beginning you know that both Jonah and Kacey have some baggage but you aren't quite sure what it is at first. Then when you find out you are gutted but you can't put the book down because their love is so pure and so right.

I accidentally deleted my original review so when I had to go back to the book to grab my favorite quotes just remembering this story caused me to get choked up all over again. It is one of those stories that will sit in your heart forever.

Kacey was out of control and she's hitting rock bottom where she meets Jonah. Good looking Jonah who is the limo driver but also her saviour. Kacey is miserable because she doesn't want to be living her life as she is. Jonah is also miserable for his own reasons. Everyone says misery loves company. The misery pulls them together but loves keeps them together.

Jonah is about routine and when Kacey gets dumped into his life his routine is shattered.

This type of story can't be reviewed well because it is a story that needs to be experienced. If I give too much away in the book I feel it will lessen the experience.

This book is about love and heartache. About hope and living in the moment. About being happy when that's the last place you want to be.

Here are just a few of my favorite quotes that help you fall in love with this story.

"And I know you want to leave a beautiful piece of art in your wake. Your focus is solely on the destination, not the journey." Dena placed her palm on my cheek. "Shouldn't you also try to do the most important think along the way?"
I covered her hand with mine. "What's that?"
"Be happy."

We do not remember days, we remember moments. Cesare pavese

"Listen to me. I'm more afraid of not being with you than I am of being with you. . . "

"You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop." Rumi

"Not yet. Not tonight. We might not have months or years, but we have moments. Thousands upon thousands of them. Let's take each moment, seize it and wring it dry. Okay?"

"It happened and all we can do now is take care of each other. Live in the little moments, right? Just like we promised. The little moments. We have so many. Thousands upon thousands."

"Brave or scared shitless, I don't have a choice but to love you." She raised her head and sniffled. "It's all your fault, really. You're so damn loveable."

"Because loving her is the best thing I've ever done."

"My heart's breaking," I said. "And I'm so happy. You make me so happy. Your love's made me strong. You've made me a better person . . ."
"Being loved by you, Jonah . . . it's the greatest honor of my life."

I am so sorry, but this book just wasn't for me. It had a great premise, but unfortunately, it fell just short for me. I was not able to finish the book. I am not using NetGalley’s DNF feature as it negatively affects reviewers.

I loved this story from the very beginning. It proved that when love comes knocking on your door, you need to take what is given. People spend their entire lives searching for what Kacey & Jonah have. I smiled, I cried, I hurt for all these characters leaving me heartbroken, but full of hope. I can't wait to read what happens next.

I was really excited to give this one a try since the reviews have been so high praising. I just could not get into this story. I usually give a book a good 50 pages to draw me in and this one did not. Bummer!

if you want a story that wont make you cry, that what make you search your own heart for what you want, then do not pick this up.
Scott's journey through the lives of Jacey and Jonah that both have their own individual issues is both powerfully emotive and torturously heart breaking. neither wanted to fall in love, neither wanted that connection but something did happen when she passed out on his couch and not something either of them wanted.
powerfully heart rending.

5 “No regrets” stars

“Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along.”

I have had this book on my kindle for months and I was scared to dive in. Not because I thought it would be disappointing but rather because I knew it wouldn't be. I had to be prepared for all the emotions I’d feel. I knew it would shatter my heart and it did. Oh, how it did. I was devastated. But it is an absolutely gorgeous and touching romance that was breathtaking despite its heartache inducing storyline.

Jonah Fletcher has months to live. He is a lonely man desperate to leave his mark on the world and he will fight to the end to make his dream a reality. Kacey Dawson is part of the hot band, Rapid Confession, and living the “rock and roll” lifestyle; however, her life doesn’t make her happy like she expected. She is lost and trying not to drown as her world crumbles around her. When Kacey ends up on Jonah’s couch, they share a beautiful connection that grows into something special and changes their lives forever.

I loved this book! As usual, Emma Scott’s writing is gorgeous and the storyline is unique. This story encompasses all the feels and is beautifully imagined with description so vast that I saw and felt everything as story was brought to life. The multi-layered characters and complex emotions portrayed touched my heart and I became instantly invested in Jonah and Kacey's story.

Jonah's strength was remarkable. He was the backbone for everyone else even with everything he was going through. He was realistic and his fears were believable and well-written. I loved his honesty and maturity, accepting his diagnosis and facing it head on. I loved his beautiful heart and his support and encouragement for Kacey was awe-inspiring. Even though he expected nothing in return for being there for Kacey, he ended up receiving everything and it filled me with joy to watch him fall in love.

"My world had been fading to gray until she burst in like a bombshell of color and light."

Kacey was amazing. Her bravery and strength was remarkable, but she was also vulnerable. I felt her pain, regret, destruction, and disappointment as solidly as if they were mine to bear.  She just wanted to be loved and my heart ached for everything she went through. I understood why she put up walls and I enjoyed watching Jonah tear them down. He was the catalyst to turn her life around and his unconditional support gave her the boost she needed to get her life back on track towards happiness. She was there for Jonah despite her fears and she ended up being the perfect person for him.

This romance was real, honest, and full of pain and tears. But it was also full of smiles, laughter, and love. Jonah and Kacey had an easy friendship that bloomed into so much more. The beauty of these friends-turned-lovers and the depth of their love was overwhelming. My heart was full when they finally gave in to the intense desire that had built between them and went all in.

“No going back, okay? No second-guessing. If we do, we just waste time. I don’t want to waste a single moment with you. Not one.” She pushed herself up onto her elbows. “Do you promise me? No going back?”…
“No going back,” I said, and sealed the vow with a kiss that was soft and gentle, but deep with intention.

They helped each other heal even as their future remained uncertain and the circumstances only made them stronger. Kacey and Jonah lived life to its fullest and made each other happy in a world that was seemingly unfair.

“We might not have months or years, but we have moments. Thousands upon thousands of them. Let’s take each moment, seize it and wring it dry.”

I loved the other characters in the book known as "the seven." Whether they were family or friends, each person had an important role in the story and they found a special place in my heart as they stuck by Jonah even when it was painful. I loved Jonah's brother, Theo, and the wonderful relationship between the brothers made me smile.

Throughout the book there were ideas taking shape and hints that pointed to what was to come. Though this book left me brokenhearted, it also filled me with hope and I cannot wait to dive into All In for the conclusion of this emotional duet. Overall, Full Tilt was a captivating and beautifully emotive love story and I definitely recommend it. It captures the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and everything in between. Get ready to feel…and make sure you have the tissues ready!

Wow! This book was so touching, heart-breaking and powerful. Full Tilt was my first read by Emma Scott and definitely not the last. Every line of this story was beautifully written and intensely felt.

I loved Jonah and Kacey’s relationship so much. It’s like they need each other at that moment in their life and meet by fate. Jonah is in the last miles of his short life and Kacey in a wild period of searching; they’re both looking for something mysterious that’s missing and ultimately finding it with each other.

They couldn’t be more different, but they complete each other so well. I appreciated how their relationship gradually evolved from friends to lovers. In the short amount of time they spend together, they still learn so much from the other. I felt myself chocked and fighting sobs through some sequences of this heartfelt story and by the end I was a complete mess of tears.

Jonah and Kacey’s story affected me deeply. You know from the start that their love story is doomed, but can’t help diving deeper into this poignant romance and feel everything.

Emma Scott created the perfect mix of sweet, beautiful, hopeful and sad with Full Tilt. This story will stay with me for the profound emotions it delivers and the stunning way it was told.

I read what is now my favourite book just over two years ago. Everything I read before it was forgotten and everything I've read since hasn't quite reached that high. But every so often I read what I like to call a Heart book. I love that my favourite book is called Heart for all the obvious reasons.

Full Tilt is a Heart book. It's been on my radar for a while but I don't know if I ever fully knew what it was about. I was browsing the romance section of Netgalley recently in one of my major book slumps and I was delighted to find this and All In. I was even more delighted to be approved for review. I have to hold my hands up and say I'm not the most focused reader/reviewer. I'm a believer that books find us when we need them the most. I'm not disciplined enough to prioritise arcs over books of my own choosing. If I don't read the right book at the right time then it'll probably be a dnf. So for that reason Full Tilt has been sitting on my kindle for sometime and on my tbr list for even longer. But I think there's a reason I waited to read this book over the Easter holidays while there's an abundance of chocolate. It was needed.

I might not have known what this book was about before I started but it became clear pretty early on what was ahead. This book is beautiful. Two damaged, in very different ways, people coming together was something beautiful. The end came all too soon but it in no way felt rushed. It was only too soon because it came at all. I had a theory I'm honestly none too proud of through all most the whole book. If I had been right it would have been a very different ending and there would be no book two. When it became clear my first theory was wrong I switched gears to a different one. After reading the blurb for All In I think I'm a little nearer the mark this time.

Full Tilt is one heck of an emotional ride that has a complete and satisfying if heartbreaking ending. I feel content enough to sit back and think about this book and remember everything I felt before rushing into book two. I still have a few questions about and hopes for the characters I grew to know and love so I look forward to hopefully getting to revisit them in All In.

A love story that redefines your inspiration in life - what matters and how to seize the important parts.

This book wrecked me. This book broke my heart into a million tiny little pieces. I freaking loved it. How I can love a book that hurt me so bad, I have no idea but I do. Jonah is so perfect and I would marry him in a second. I also enjoyed reading about the glass blowing portions of this book. I found it very interesting.

I hurt for Kelsey and what she went through. I really loved reading about her. Seeing the growth in her character was amazing. The way she loved Jonah makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

I loved the friends and the family relationships in this book.

This is a book I won't forget for a really long. Even though this book is a duet, I don't think I will be continuing. I have a pretty good idea of whats going to happen in the next book and I am happy right where this book ends.

*COMPLIMENTARY ARC PROVIDED VIA NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*

Every once and a while in a reader's life, they'll come across a few books that take their breath away and leave them speechless. I've been fortunate enough to read and cherish a handful of books that have done this for me, and I'm happy to say that Full Tilt will be added to that list.

In Full Tilt we follow a young woman named Kacey, who is in an up and coming band. Even though Kacey is rising to fame in the band, she still finds herself very lost in life. Because of her strained relationship with her parents, and especially her father, Kacey seeks affection from different men, and confuses it with the kind of love she wanted growing up. To help drown out her pain and loneliness, she drinks more than she should so that she can ignore the pain she feels. As a result of her drinking, more times than not, she tends to get too wild and make bad decisions. And that's how she lands in the hands, or should I say couch, of Jonah.

"I didn't know it then-I couldn't have-but in that moment, the rest of my life, or what was left of it began."

Jonah is just trying to make it through each day, and get his glass installation done for a big art exhibit. He's been working day in and day out to get every piece done and to put his heart into the show, and he has a very strict routine that he goes by every single day. The last thing he needs is wayward rock star crashing into his life and throwing it off balance. But what will he do when Kacey shows him that sometimes there's more to life than just going by a routine? And what happens when they both show each other what it truly means to live and to love?

"Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along."

This was my very first Emma Scott book, and she has me hooked to anything else she writes!! I've heard a few peeps talking about how good her books are, but now that I've finally read one I can totally see the appeal!! Her writing is absolutely amazing!! And the character development was out of this world good!! If you've been reading my reviews for awhile then you know how important character development is to me.

The amount of emotions that Emma Scott was able to give the reader really made the story for me. I felt so entrapped in these characters and everything they did. I laughed when they laughed, and I cried when they cried. This is a story that makes you believe that true loves exists, and it makes you appreciate the loved ones in your life. This story and these characters will stay with me for a long time, they were just completely unforgettable for me.

"You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop."

Emma Scott also did an amazing job of giving very vivid descriptions throughout the story, but she also didn't have too many descriptions to the point that the story was overwhelmed with it. I was able to picture everything in my head so easily from Jonah's glass pieces that he made, to the scenery around them. And I really loved that the story was set in Las Vegas, because I was able to vacation there this past summer, and reading all the descriptions of the Strip was so much fun!! It was like being on vacation all over again.

"My scattered thoughts imagined that it would be peaceful and quiet inside one of those paperweights. I could float weightless in a glass ocean, suspended in beauty, surrounded by color and stillness. No noise. No pounding drums or tearing riffs or screaming fans. Just...silence.And safety.

There's so much more I want to say about this story but I don't want to spoil anything!! Plus this is a story that you just have to dive in headfirst, has to be experienced, it has to be lived. Don't read anything about it, just go in and prepare to be blown away, I promise you guys will NOT be disappointed, and you will love this book just as much as I did. So please go and live it!!

"We had to go full tilt, just like the card players did. I would hit instead of stay. Always."

I've not read an Emma Scott before this one, Full Tilt book 1 in the Full Tilt series. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this gritty story so much, but I did. It captured my attention right away and held it until the end which can be hard to manage. If you enjoy contemporary romance books with an edge, you'll love this one. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
