“Six degrees of separation,” that is the secondary theme of Jill Mansell’s “Three Amazing Things About You.” People from different parts of Britain cross paths several times in their lifetime to be forever connected by an unexpected event.

With Hallie, an internet-age Dear Abby columnist at center stage, the book begins when Hallie confesses that she has Cystic Fibrosis and on her way for an organ transplant. From there, Hallie takes readers to the journey that brought her to that point in time.

A bittersweet and poignant story that tugs at your heartstrings, all the characters come alive in the pages, thanks to Mansell’s lyrical storytelling style. Make sure that there are Kleenex tissues within reach when you are reading this book because tears will flow.

A beautiful book that should be in your bookshelf, “Three Amazing Things About You” is worth several re-reads. It is Rated T for Teens due to discussion of Cystic Fibrosis and some medical choices.
