Sultry, romantic suspense…

Casey was struggling with grief as he embarked on a new career in his hometown. Determined to fulfill his wife’s dying wish, he wanted to make it work, raising his kids as she wanted. Unfortunately, reality didn’t quite meet anyone’s expectations… TJ wasn’t sure what to make of Casey. She didn’t see herself the way he did and wasn’t sure she could trust it…

I’m having a hard time reviewing this story actually. I wrestle with the parts I really enjoyed while comparing them to others I struggled with. The story was well-written and I did enjoy the characters, foibles and all. The relationship progressed at break-neck speed regardless of the issues they had to work through initially. This was a novella which requires the story to be compressed into a set number of pages but I really wanted more time for their romance to grow…

Saying that, however, I would recommend this read if you are a sports fan and a lover of second chances...
