I started First Light and was unsure what I was going to be reading. Was it going to be incredible sad? Was it going to be enlightening? First Light is a story of survival, trust, acceptance, second chances, and being truthful. It is also a story of sharing your history with those who matter to better understand why you are the way you are.

First Light kind of had two story lines, one in the present where a mother and father were telling their son what brought them together and another in the past which was the story of how they ended up together. I thought I could predict how the story would go. There were parts I had right but there were many more that I was in awe of what these characters went through just to survive.

First Light is a warm, loving, story with a family that has a secret it has to share and a son who manages to embrace that secret and understand exactly how lucky he is to have such wonderful parents.

A heartfelt, touching family story about love and sacrifice. The way the tale is set up lets the reader experience the book knowing that some of the major characters do survive the ordeal. This allows the reader to be more relaxed and become a part of the story. The setting and events are vividly described, and the bone-chilling cold and despair of the passengers is palpable. The ending is ultimately uplifting.

Daniel Albrecht and Kerry Eagan are a young couple working for a petroleum company. They are in charge of public relations and damage control during major accidents, like the one they are currently working on in Alaska. The two are in love, engaged and expecting a baby. They head back to Chicago during a large snow storm, and the plane crashes into the mountains somewhere in Canada. Kerry is injured and Daniel knows he must try to help her and the other passengers. Can he find help before it is too late?

This was a great book. When I finally got around to reading it I couldn't put it down. I loved the way Bill Rancic brought the characters to life. Made me feel like I actually knew them. Great read and I look forward to more books by this author.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I requested this book. It seemed like a story that would keep my interest..and boy did it do that! The author did an outstanding job of character development and storytelling to bring the reader along this amazing story of love. There's drama, excitement and an amazing story of fortitude rescue.

I found myself so engrossed in the story that I couldn't put it down because I had to see how they survived and if the boss that is a selfish and lousy pig got what was coming to him! There's a surprise to this story that I certainly didn't see coming and wow what a surprise it is.

Overall, this was a great book and I'm glad I took the chance in requesting this one!
