Mind Mates definitely wasn’t what I was thinking it would be. Then again, I wasn’t really sure purestdelightawardwhere Mary was bringing this series so I shouldn’t have been surprised with that. But, I enjoy fun paranormal and Mary Hughes has a way of writing just that. You never really know what is going to come out of her characters’ mouths or just how they will end up solving the mystery and being together. Then, there is always a little hidden message from her. Today’s lesson … believe in yourself, your abilities and those around you will be there to support and love you.

Emma and Gabriel were really two geeky and weird characters. But, they were fun. They got each other, they understood what the other was saying when people around them would just scratch their heads trying to figure it out. They each thought they had unrequited love for the other and they each had their insecurities and problems. Together they found a way to make things work, they found a new kind of magic and they found that prophecies, though obtuse, can be fulfilled and that love will always win over hate.

I also have to mention the way Mary Hughes finally brings her characters together. She has a way of having them start off at a slow burn and then bring them together explosively. It’s always wild and fun. Yea, there’s that word again … fun. Even her sex scenes are hot and humorous. She’s just an author that draws you into the story, makes it exciting and then just has you giggling, smiling and laughing throughout the story.

Now, it’s on to the third book in the Pull of the Moon series … babies to be born … secrets to be kept and probably a lot more fun and exciting times.
