I liked Janet Spaeth's style of writing, and enjoyed The Lilac Year for the most part. I also liked that faith was very much a part of the main character's lives, just as every Christian fiction book should be.

To me, it's rather unfortunate that the second story in the book was so similar to the first one at the beginning - same meeting at the railway station and same emphasis on the sky-blue eyes. I couldn't go on reading after that.

Is the author still writing? I hope she is!
