This book was actually nothing like what I expected, but in a good way. I was expecting a little more tough corporate arguments and a lot more animosity between the two main characters. I guess I was expecting a little more enemies to lovers than second chance.

All that being said, Molly and Tam’s story was really sweet and while I understand the precipitating events that split them up all those years ago, I wonder at the reality of Tam waiting so long to seek Molly out. That part does not make sense to me at all.

I also felt they just dove right back into their relationship after clearing up the misunderstanding, which is great. But after 17 years, shouldn’t they take at least a little time to get to know each other again?

Outside of those questions, this was a lovely book. The friendship between Molly and Tunney was everything that I could hope for (but seriously, why didn’t he seek Molly out either??). And I liked both Gerri and Cissy a lot, their characters added a little more fun and humor to the book.

All in all I enjoyed this one.

Molly Parr, corporate female, struggling with her now on the scene first love
A brilliant story that deftly entwines the corporate world with that of family, of loss, of love in its rawest.
A brilliant story with fantastic characters that are richly explored.
Loved it.
