I really enjoyed this story of Dante and Willow. I loved that we were able to read both POV since many Harlequin books I've read in the past have always been only through the heroine's POV. I liked that I was able to read about Dante's thoughts and how he already knew that Willow was a virgin before he even had sex with her because of her actions. There was none of that finding-out-and-he-becomes-enraged-and-yells-at-her-for-deceiving-him melodrama. Don't get me wrong I do like those stories, but this one was very refreshing since the angst wasn't driven by something so trivial, but instead important like Willow's illness and how her family had kept her isolated and protected and also Dante's childhood trauma of not being able to save his mother from death as an 8-year-old and also his estrangement from his twin brother whom he had been so close with.

The only thing I really didn't like about this book was the fact that I realized the book was part of a series and while I usually love reading a series since I enjoy hearing about previous characters, this one felt a little off because each of the books was written by a different author. So this book felt very much like an island onto itself instead of a cohesive book within a series. I've already read another book in this series, The Di Sione Secret Baby (The Billionaire's Legacy #2) by Maya Blake and while I did like that book as well I was hoping that reading this one will give a hint as to why the grandfather wanted all his 'Lost Mistresses' back. I know it will probably conclude in the last book, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't even get a little hint of something especially the grandfather's reaction when the diadem was brought back to him.

To be honest I was a little sceptical that I would have enjoyed this book at all. Because starting the series from book 5 probably isn’t the best way to begin a series. But once I got started I just had a really hard time to put it down. I enjoyed the quick read; the faster pace the characters and the setting. I felt that this book was sweet, there was a tiny bit of complication with their relationship, and romantic and it also had a slightly darker side to it too. It had a really good combination of all of that put together.
