FBI SA Evangeline Rossi must find Allie, the 13 year old daughter of the NY Police Commissioner asap. In the middle of the prep for the Thanksgiving Day parade. She's got a team of unusual people to help her. It's a fast paced read.

I wish I'd read the first book in this series/character just to get a little background info on the lead but this book was great! I loved the fact the main character was a strong female employed in a male dominated career. The twists and turns within this book will leave you on edge until the end!

This was a riveting thriller set in Manhattan on the eve of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. As preparations are in order for the parade, an attack by paintball gun is carried out and the police commissioner hit, but not seriously injured. While dealing with the aftermath, and trying to get the balloons ready for the parade, the police commissioner's teenaged daughter is taken from the area.

As the commissioner has no time to deal with his missing daughter, Eve Rossi and her highly skilled team that is part of a secret unit of the FBI, are called in to investigate. As they work the scene, there are a few twists and turns before events play out.

Great installment in the series! I love Eve and her team, and this one had a great mystery and a fantastic setting!

This was a very well done and engrossing thriller. The action was non stop and I loved that the backdrop for all of the excitement was the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. This was my first time reading a book in this series but I didn't feel that I had missed anything by not having read the first book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

I was given the opportunity to read an electronic copy of City on Edge via NetGalley and Bantam. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Special Agent Eve Rossi has returned with her handpicked group of specialists, individuals who have, at one time, fallen into the very criminal activities that provided them the expertise for their current positions. When the Police Commissioner's 13 year old daughter goes missing during an impromptu protest just prior to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, Eve is called in to access the situation and work towards returning the girl unharmed. During the investigation, however, Eve and her team uncover startling and troubling pieces of evidence that may point them in a very different direction. Is it his personal or professional past that has come back to haunt Logan Donovan? Will his daughter Allie pay the ultimate price?

Always a fan of a female main character with skill and intellect, Eve Rossi definitely gets high marks from me. City on Edge features the Vidocq team from book 1, with a new case to solve. I like how the author realistically portrays what may reasonably happen to some of them, as their criminal backgrounds would raise red flags to law enforcement. Of course, there are many situations that occur during the book that could not possibly happen, but that is what makes City on Edge interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to those who like police procedurals/thrillers and I look forward to hopefully reading a new book in the future featuring Eve Rossi.
