This was my first Rachel Windsor novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the historical aspects to be quite interesting. The main characters were strong and well developed women. The novel really has a lot of different elements weaved into the story all set during Worl War II. Ruth's progression from quiet submissive daughter to a strong nurse and woman was fantastic. I loved being able to watch Ruth grow throughout the novel. The romantic relationships are steamy which is always a bonus. This was very well worth the read and I enjoyed it a lot. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
