I started this book then put it down for a long time. Kristen is dealing with an illness that will end her life early. Pasha is dealing with his crappy childhood. Both of them carry so much pain and they try to be free, fun loving people but they aren't really dealing with the hurt. And hurt people hurt people and they end up separating and I was just so angry at them. But, I wanted them together and happy and this book just hurt at times. I needed to be in the right head space for it.

Anything sports-romance always has me hooked right from the start. This book was sexy, fun, and kept me entertained. I read it in one sitting. While I started on book 3, I have already made my way around the rest of the series. Sophia Henry is definitely an author to watch.

OMG, I have to say that this story really took me by surprise.

I enjoyed the characters, the romance and the overall story. It loved Kristen and Pavel’s journey, both as individuals and as lovers. Their attraction was always present, even when they tried hard to downplay it, which in turn, made their chemistry explode even brighter when they finally let themselves explore their connection further. I also enjoyed the range of emotions brought to the page and how the author managed to balance well the harder themes touched upon with the romance and happenings in the book.

Although this is book three in the series it can be read as a standalone.

Secrets are trouble…

Especially in matters of the heart! Pavel and Kristen meet on sun-filled cruise and the attraction and desire were instantaneous. I loved how they met up, the whys and wherefores leading to a ‘fake’, time-limited relationship. Of course it didn’t end there but as long as it wasn’t real, hearts couldn’t be hurt, right? Well…

What is it that I’ve picked up how many books lately, smack-dab in the middle of a series? Luckily, Pavel and Kristen’s story read fine as a stand-alone. Really fine, actually. The characters were fun and flirty but had depth to them, had real life hardships and obstacles, that made them easily to get attached to. They made me laugh but also had me wondering at life and the randomness of challenges to be faced. How those obstacles are handled is threaded throughout their story.

It didn’t take long for me to start feeling the tension and the devastation as all the secrets came to light. How they dealt with them though had my heart. Pavel, especially, did a complete one-eighty to own Kristen’s hear. And also mine…

I love this series. This was the first one to get me interested in Sports Romance novels. I love the Pilots Hockey players. They all have issues but we can't help love them. In my opinion give all the books in the series at 5 star rating!!!!

Reading Order:
1) Delayed Penalty
2) Power Play
3) Interference
4) Unsportsmanlike Conduct
5) Breakaway

I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.

I feel as though I’ve read this exact book a hundred times and it didn’t add anything different or special

Sweet romance and the setup of starting on a cruise was fun. The connection between Pasha and Kristen felt superficial at first; the characters too, but it ended up with a lot of heart. Kristin is dealing with an illness, so she tries not to live scared, but she does when it comes to love. Pasha hasn’t always been the nicest guy, but he has been trying to be better. He’s worried his past will get in the way of his connection with Kristin, so he withholds information about his life. Pasha has had a tough life and has some walls built up. Kristin has walls too because of her illness. They have a steamy relationship that starts out as just a vacation romance, but develops into more. Interesting story; a bit stereotypical, but an entertaining read. Lots of sweet and sexy moments. I would’ve liked a bit more from the ending, but still a fun read.

DNF. Oh my goodness ... I SOOOO wanted to like this novel. And for the most part I did like it but I could only put up with what the characters were complaining about up until Chapter 8. Yet the only reason I am STILL recommending it is because I just couldn’t deal with the depth this novel went to at the time of reading it and for someone else that might be a good thing. Good luck!

A young woman goes on a singles cruise after her parents purchase her ticket as a graduation gift. Unbeknownst to her, her parents want her to make a match with the son of a family friend who is also on the trip. To avoid this unwanted beau's attention, she fake-dates this really hot guy who is very, very down with the idea. Too bad Pasha has a past and he's pretty sure Kristen is going to dump him when she finds out about it.

It's a great set up, and I am a sucker for fake dating stories. I also liked the way the 'got a past' plot played off the fact that this is part of a series - Pasha and Kristen haven't met before, but their friends have met, and Pasha was a jerk to her friend during a pretty dark period in his life. So, all cool, should be great, right?

Except that 'fake dating' is just...actual dating. Pasha and Kristen date. I don't know why either of them think it's fake, when they're just dating. Dating with an expiration date, but still. A good 2/3rds of the book are just two attractive people sailing around the Caribbean doing tourist things and being attracted to each other. There's no conflict and no stakes. It's good fluff if that's what you want. There's a subplot where Kristen is worried about telling Pasha she's chronically ill, but he takes it with complete aplomb and support, and I can imagine that being pretty affirming and comforting. (Just guessing, though. As the chronic illness rep, I can't really say, outside my lane.)

Once they get off the cruise ship and Kristen finds out who Pasha is, she's pretty rightly mad and the book just takes a complete left turn into a fairly different story, and that's where it loses me. It doesn't have a lot of satisfying conflict, as there's nothing keeping our two leads together, so the chapters just drag on and get pretty contrived, and it loses the fluff aspect if that was your draw to the first part.

Pavel and Kristen’s story covers topics of abuse and a serious disease, yet done in a tasteful manner. Can be read as a stand-alone.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct (A Pilots Hockey Novel) by Sophia Henry
• “Live in the moment”
What an amazing story! This was my first Sophia Henry story and of the Pilots Hockey series... But after reading Unsportsmanlike Conduct. and the descriptions of the other books within the series...I CANNOT wait to read more! Being a hockey mom makes me understand their drive... And aggression (some might say stupidity sometimes) too. But they LOVE their sport..... And us hockey moms do too. Yep Sophia has a new fan on her hands and I cannot wait to read more! This is an amazing story... As I've known someone with CF (kinda funny how it coincides with this story BUT..) this story really hits home whether or not you know anyone with this disease. The lessons Sophia throws at you within this story has me wanting to scramble to find out what her other stories behold. Kristen and Pasha have to decide whether to fight for what they want or keep living the life they had before their cruise. To find out what they choose and to hear about their vacation adventures you'll have to read Unsportsmanlike Conduct... If you like a good HOT hockey story then you'll love this series... I know I do! While each of these novels evolve around hickey and specific teams, each one is its own standalone HEA. ARC received from Netgalley for a voluntary review.
Favorite Passages ~

• Allow yourself to slip into the moment and just enjoy.
• Don’t waste your precious time on earth with someone who makes you miserable.
• “Live in the moment”....... No regrets.

Kristen's motto - take nothing for granted and live life to the fullest - and this is exactly what she does when she meets Patel. This was another tremendous addition to this great series of Pilots Hockey Team.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct, the 4th book in the Pilots Hockey series by Sophia Henry is a fun and warm read. This book can be read as a stand alone and is the first one I have read. Kristen is on a cruise to meet a nice Greek boy but meets Pasha instead. Kristen and Pasha have great chemistry and both are going to live life to the fullest. What a fun summer read.

I love reading romances involving hockey players. This book fit the bill even when the book doesn’t revolve around the hockey rink.

This story follows Pasha, a hockey player for the minor league Hockey team in Detroit, and Kristen, a young woman committed to making everyday count (for reasons you discover in the story). She literally runs into Pasha, and so their story begins. They are on a singles cruise, and Pasha helps play interference between Kristin and the suitor her family wants her to settle down with.

As the story progresses, these two get closer, which includes sharing secrets with each other that no one else knows. Great character development and definitely looking forward to meeting Pasha’s team members!

Kristin is ready for a once in a lifetime adventure with her besties. When she sets sail to see the world she will discover that the sexy man she "runs" into will take her on a journey of the heart and open up her world.

Pavel has just met the one woman who could make him imagine forever. A world of hockey and puck bunnies is fun when you live in the moment but when the notion of something magical happens, all bets are off.

It's a cat and mouse game for these two as they discover more than a global adventure on the high seas. This hockey series is fantastic and I enjoyed the romance at sea.

A must read that sizzles from the sexy beaches to the cabin romance! Are you ready to set sail?

I loved this book I was hooked from the very first page and I couldn't put my kindle down while reading this book. I liked the premise of this story. This was a quick and entertaining read. I loved the romance and the connection between the characters

Another great hockey romance by the author! I enjoy read about the Pilots Hockey Team, and this book was a great addition to the series. I really liked Pasha and Kristen together! When they meet on a cruise, they pretend to be involved to help Kristen avoid another man who is interested in her. Pasha, who is using a nickname, soon realizes that he has a connection to Kristen's best friend, and not a good one! If Kristen learns who he is, she will hate him, so he keeps his identify a secret. The fake relationship soon becomes a real one, but the two know it has an expiration date of the ending of the cruise. About the time that Pasha realizes he wants Kristen in his life permanently, she learns of the secrets he's been keeping and the lies he's told and feels incredibly betrayed.

This was a great sports romance. I loved the characters, the storyline, and the romance!

This is the fourth book in the Pilot's series that I have read. I think it was my favorite so far!

We met Paval (Pasha) when he tried to make trouble for the heroine (Kristen) of this story's best friend in a previous novel in this series. In the next books, Paval is becoming more human but his teammates are still wary of him at times.

Pasha "rescues" Kristen from an overzealous suitor while they are both on a single cruise. He introduces himself as Pasha rather than Paval knowing he would have no chance with Kristen if she knew who he really was.

Both characters are dealing with difficult issues. The author does a good job exploring how these issues especially Kristen's medical issues have shaped them into who they are along with a healthy dose of fun.

I loved the ending how Pasha took care of everything (after the truth came out) and clearly showed that he took Kristen's health seriously and knew what was at stake.

I thought this was a fun, flirty quick read. The book is part of a Pilots Hockey series. I have not read any of the others, but was able to read this book as a stand alone. I enjoyed the characters in the book and felt they had great chemistry. Through the story you remember how important it is to make the most of every day and live each day to the fullest. I look forward to more books from Sophia Henry.
