I really enjoyed the different perspectives given in this book from Lindsay and Sophie, as well as the way it hopped around time-wise in Part 1. I was disappointed Marcus ended up being the "bad guy," and surprised it wasn't Jared. All-in-all this was a typical Chevy Stevens story, which is a good thing by me!

I have been a Chevy Stevens fan for awhile now. I enjoy her writing so much and was so excited when I got approved for this book on Netgalley. Thank you!

Lindsay is married to Andrew and they have a daughter named Sophie together. The marriage is not your typical marriage because Lindsay has to be careful not to set Andrew off. The slightest thing such a brushing against a server at a restaurant could set him off. Lindsay can see in Sophie's eyes that she is scared of her father as well. Lindsay knows that it is time to do something, but she has to wait for her chance.

When Lindsay and Sophie get away, Andrew ends up getting himself thrown in jail. Lindsay has nothing to worry about until it is time for him to get out, right? Will Andrew learn his lesson while he is in there?

Lindsay moves away and starts her own business that helps women that have been in the same situation she was in with Andrew get jobs. I so admired Lindsay for what she was doing and how strong she was for herself and Sophie. I felt the bond between them and loved their character development.

When strange things start happening after Andrew gets out of jail, Lindsay begins to wonder if it is him, or has he really changed like he said he had? Lindsay feels like she is violated in her home, Sophie feels like she is being shadowed, LIndsay feels like someone is watching her as well, but who could be doing this?

I always think I have Chevy Stevens stories all figured out and then she throws something in there to mess up my whole theory, but that is why I love her books. You can guess about who the bad guy is and you are most likely wrong. I can't wait for more from Chevy Stevens! I highly recommend this book for a great read that will keep you guessing!!

I you are looking for a twisted thriller this isn't the one.

Over all it was a good story. It did have me guessing which of the four suspects could be causing all the mischief..
You have the ex husband: history of abuse, just out of jail
You have the new boyfriend: Kind of odd, very vanilla. I was waiting for him to snap or something.
You have Sophie's (the daughter) boyfriend: certainly clingy, creepy, entirely capable of stalker activities
Then you have the friend: Seems to be jealous of the boyfriend, sneaks his way into different situations, kinda creepy.
I added and removed a few other suspects along the way. We can just say that I was not right. Wouldn't be the first time I was mislead.

The Audio:
The narrator for Sophie drove me entirely up the wall. She had a very odd cadence to her speech pattern, pausing and changing her voice at odd times. It definitely affected how I felt about the story.

Overall a good read. The 'thriller' was just missing, I would simply call it a mystery.

This was my first experience reading Chevy Stevens' work, but it definitely most be my last. Never Let You Go is a gripping thriller told from the points of view of a mother and her 17-year-old daughter. Lindsay was terrorized by her obsessive, controlling and violent husband who has spent the past decade in prison. Upon his release, Lindsay fears that he will resurface and attempt to reestablish a relationship with their daughter whom she has warned about her father's past behavior. Lindsay has joined a support group, studied self-defense, and founded her own business, but never feels safe or completely able to trust. When it seems that her worst fears are becoming reality, she believes that she can rely upon the support system she has built for herself and her daughter, but are those relationships sound? The book moves at a steady pace toward a terrifying and exciting climax, keeping readers guessing whether their theories are accurate until the very last scene plays out.

Chevy Stevens did it again! I am a huge Chevy Stevens fan after reading Still Missing about a year ago.

It is the same type of book and story you'd expect, it sucks you in immediately and becomes hard to put down. Plot is somewhat the same as her other stories and kind of reminded me of the Jennifer Lopez movie Enough .

With that said it is not the same type of ending as the JLO movie lol. It has some very suspenseful moments that add to the depth of the characters and it avidly has your mind thinking of possible outcomes.

I was NOT expecting the ending at all! Which is a real good thing in a thriller/ suspense book.

4.8 stars out of 5 for Never Let You Go

When I started this book, I was looking for something that will be riveting, something that will keep me hooked and give me sleepless nights. My favourite Blogger had wonderful things to say about this book leaving me all the more curious.
Lindsey marries Andrew and Sophie is their baby born soon after. Andrew is well to do, hardworking and loves his daughter and cares for his in laws. He also seems to be the ideal husband, but he is far from that.
When things get beyond control, Lindsey elopes with her little girl. Now staying in a different place, working hard and being there for each other, this makes up their life. Sophie is now 18, and Andrew is released from the prison after having served the term for a crime he committed.
Having a wonderful friend, a trainer and friend-Marcus by her side and a sweet boyfriend -life is perfect for Lindsey, but she is always worried that her past will come back for her.
So when Andrew comes back-her life is a mess once again. Someone seems to be stalking her and Sophie. Someone is out to hurt everyone she loves. Lindsey is torn- her life seems to be that of a refugee.
While the book had me glued from the start- the story keeps getting better. The characters are well developed and each person makes a significant impact on the plot. While the mystery bit was good too, the stalking, the creepy acts kept the book going for me.
Was it Andrew, was it someone else? This was such an open ended question that pretty much everyone was a suspect at different points.
I guess that is what i enjoyed- it left me questioning. I was shooting arrows in the dark and it somehow hit the mark! But i was still uncertain how the book would end.
The ending was just as gratifying, making the book a wholesome read!
This could just be one of my best reads of 2018!

Never Let You Go is my first read by author, Chevy Stevens. The main characters include Lindsey Nash, an abused wife and mother, and her daughter, Sophie. This is a story about domestic abuse that Lindsey endured for years then finally her ex-husband is put into prison. Lindsey and her daughter Sophie start their lives over and years later her ex-husband is released from prison. I won’t go any further because I don’t want to spoil anything but it really gets good at the end.

The only parts of the book I didn’t really care for were the parts about Sophie and her teenage love life. But the pace picked back up and I totally never saw this ending coming. Lindsey and Sophie proved to be very tough women throughout the story. The abusive parts were not written in great detail so it was sort of softened for the reader. Although it was written that way the reader could still feel the fear that Lindsey had for her abusive husband. I would definitely read more from this author and would recommend her books to others. Four out of five stars for Never Let You Go!!!

Thank you Chevy Stevens, St Martin’s Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book to read.

Chevy Stevens's books always seem to look interesting to me. I've had several of her books that have found their way onto my TBR and a couple that have even made their way onto my physical bookshelves, but this is the first one that I have gotten around to reading. Well, it's about time!

This was an excellent book. I loved pretty much everything about it. The writing was excellent. The characters were interesting and the dialogue was realistic. The mystery was good and there were some great twists. It certainly fits in the thriller genre. It was a book that I kept thinking about after I put it down and I would have loved to have just kept reading straight through.

I can't believe I waited this long to read one of Chevy's books. I'll definitely be reading more in the future.

Well I can say this was my first Chevy Stevens book and it most likely won't be my last. I've been eager to read one of her books to see what they were all about and I'm glad I finally did! The story was very well told! I mean I was hanging on to every word. The character were well-developed and the protagonists were likable. There were several twists I didn't see coming which is a HUGE bonus. Lately I feel like I've been able to guess what happens in every book I read, which for me is actually really disappointing.

Now the cons. Not really that many cons, but the two issues I had prevented me from giving it a 5 star rating. First, the story isn't exactly original. You know, that's ok for the most part as long as it's executed well, and I felt like this one was executed pretty well! It reminded me of all those typical battered wife stories/movies (Sleeping with the Enemy, Enough, etc.). Which kind of leads into my second issue: It was KIND of predictable. Sort of! I mean, there were only so many characters in the story. But I will say that despite the limited character list, the book still surprised me at times to the point that my jaw legit dropped. I was able to kind of figure things out at one point, but realized that that was ok - It didn't really ruin the book for me. It just kind of took away some of the wow-factor.

Overall I would definitely recommend this to someone who enjoys domestic thriller genres.

Oh, Chevy Stevens, you never fail to amaze me. This novel started strong and finished even stronger, hitting all the marks of what a good thriller needs.
Lindsey has escaped an abusive marriage with her daughter, Sophia. The book alternates between the present day and the time when she was abused, but does so in a way that isn't jarring or distracting. When Lindsey's ex husband is released from jail and begins living near her and Sophia, their lives become entangled in drama, violence, and paranoia.
The true achievement of this novel is the ending. Man, I did not see that coming. Highly recommend.

Thanks to St. Martin's Press via Netgalley for the free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I first heard of this author several years ago when "Still Missing" was recommended to me by a couple of blog friends. Since then, I've put all of her books on my TBR list and even purchased a couple, but I haven't managed to read one until now. Don't worry, this will not be the last Chevy Stevens title I pick up in the near future. The suspense had me at the edge of my seat!

I don't read a ton of titles in the suspense/thriller genre, but I thought Stevens did a great job with the fear factor - I was genuinely afraid for Lindsey and her daughter Sophie. Lindsey's husband became more and more creepy with every page turned, every incident recalled. Sometimes, when reading a story of domestic abuse, I think, "Well, why didn't she see that side of him from the beginning? It's so obvious!" or "Why doesn't she just leave? There's got to be some way for her to get out of this situation." But in the case of "Never Let You Go", Stevens had me believing that if I were Lindsey, I would have fallen for Andrew and been trapped in exactly the same way. She really could not make a move for fear of retaliation, not just against herself, but her family too. It truly was horrifying!

Eventually, Lindsey does end up getting away from Andrew when he's charged and sent to jail. (Not a spoiler, it says so in the synopsis!) But once Andrew is released, Lindsey is once again terrified for herself and Sophie. And Sophie, gah! Everything her mom has done her whole life has been for her protection, but Sophie, being the curious, know-it-all teenager she is, only exacerbates the danger both she and her mom are in. I won't say how, because that would indeed be a spoiler, but suffice it to say that you'll probably be yelling at Sophie just like I was when you read this book.

Does that mean you should read "Never Let You Go"? Does it get Roxy's seal of approval? Absolutely! I loved the Canadian West Coast island setting, all the twists, turns, and tension, and I think most people will agree with me.

This novel was excellent! I truly thought I had the ending figured out halfway through, but was completely wrong. I really enjoyed the character development as well as the alternating perspectives of Lindsey and Sophie, especially with regard to the flashbacks. The flashbacks tied back well to present day and gave me a strong understanding to how the main characters ended up in their position today. The big reveal at the end was shocking and completely unexpected. Highly recommend this title to fans of thrillers and of Chevy Stevens, as I've read Still Missing as well (another great title!).

Eleven years ago, Lindsey Nash grabbed her young daughter and fled her abusive husband, Andrew, in the middle of the night. He was arrested, and Lindsey and her daughter built a new life for themselves. But now he’s being released from jail, and Lindsey is afraid again. Has Andrew’s time in prison changed him for the better? Will he leave Lindsey and their daughter alone? She gets her answer: their house is broken into, her daughter is followed, and Lindsey can’t shake the feeling that Andrew is back to make sure that Lindsey will never, ever get away from him.

Many thanks to NetGalley and publisher for advancing me a copy of “Never Let You Go” by Chevy Stevens in exchange for an honest review.

Simply put, I loved “Never Let You Go.” I have read every book that Chevy Stevens has written. While some were simply amazing, others I didn’t think were up to par. I personally don’t think any novel is as good as her first novel “Still Missing” (you should really read this if you haven’t already) until now. I was simply mesmerized with “Never Let You Go” that I read this in one sitting. The suspense, intrigue and the twists and turns, the author does a terrific job weaving a story that’s well deserving of being touted as a “Thriller.” The author does an impeccable job at keeping the story flowing from beginning to end even adding little subplots that makes the story even more intriguing, all of it coming together at the end when all is revealed. The characters are interesting, well-developed and quite real. You can feel the emotion each player is going through. You could feel Lindsay’s inner turmoil trying to do the right thing with every challenge she’s faced with especially when it comes to her daughter, Sophie. Even Sophie’s actions, all of it came across as genuine, her being so naïve at times and even rebellious, your typical teenager. If you’re a true lover of reading thrillers, I highly suggest you give this one a try. Get ready to be sucked in. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'll end my review here except to say, Go, go get this book.

I received a free ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. So much that it kept me up at night because I couldn't put it down. It was full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!

I kind of regreted requesting this book at first because I later realised that going by the blurb it is not a book I would have chosen. However once I completed the first page I knew I would love it! By the halfway mark however I felt it was dragging on and I was itching to find out who did it and had to skip to the end. The ending was not such a surprise/quite obvious from early on.
