Chevy Stevens did not disappoint with Never Let You Go.
There was suspense in every chapter, but the storyline remains realistic and believable until the end. The fear and manipulation that almost every character either delivers to others or receives from those they love kept me turning the pages faster and faster the mire that I read!

Lindsey Nash got a new lease on life when her abusive ex-husband was sentenced to prison for killing a woman in an automobile accident. With Andrew in jail, Lindsey never had to look over her shoulder and she was able to raise her daughter, Sophie, without looking over her shoulder. Now it in eleven years later and Andrew is getting out of jail. Lindsey is terrified of what will happen when (not if) he finds them. What she doesn't realize is that the nearly eighteen-year-old Sophie has been communicating with Andrew for a while now and she leads Andrew right to them. The fear is real when somebody breaks into their house and then when somebody drugs their new dog and then finally when Andrew leaves a gift on Lindsey's car. Lindsey takes Sophie and runs - will they ever be able to return to the home they have come to love? Or will Andrew ruin it all and force them to live in hiding.

I have enjoyed every novel that Chevy Stevens has ever written and was really looking forward to Never Let You Go and she did not disappoint. At first, I was afraid that she had fallen into the "abusive ex-husband" cliche, but there are a couple of twists and turns that remind me that Chevy Stevens is not your average mystery author. In the years since Andrew went to prison, Lindsey has created a good support network in her boyfriend, Greg, and her friend Marcus, from their support group. She is not the meek woman she was when married, now she knows how to fight back. And I love that kind of resilience in a character. I don't like the way she talks to Sophie at times - I know it is out of extreme fear, but it was cringe-worthy. I don't really care for the boy that has caught Sophie's eye and it frustrated me that Lindsey was too distracted with her own issues to pay attention to who Sophie was hanging out with. I know it is common for teens to keep secrets from their mothers, but it terrifies me to realize just how much danger Sophie was in without realizing it. I thought that I had it all figured out, but I was wrong. I love being wrong when reading a mystery! CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS!

Bottom line - Never Let You Go is another gripping mystery from the wildly talented Chevy Stevens. Between her multi-dimensional characters and the surprising plot twists, you are promised to find yourself in the grips of a real page-turner.

so I got an advanced reader copy of this book through netgalley, even though it took me forever to get to it and by the time I read it, the book was already out. I absolutely love Chevy Stevens so when I got selected for this book I was beyond excited. However, I was a little disappointed with the book. I just felt like it was every Lifetime movie storyline all rolled into one book. Then it seemed to drag out. Part three of the book just seemed like she was throwing stuff together to meet a page quota or something. It was a decent book but it wouldn't be the first Chevy Stevens book I'd recommend to friends.

This is a brilliant modern thriller. Abused wife Lindsey and her young daughter Sophie, escape her husband Andrew. He is put in jail for many years after crashing his car, while drunk, and killing a woman driver. When Andrew is released Lindsay feels like someone is watching her and breaking in to her house. She thinks it's Andrew but hopes she is wrong. I loved this story because it had many suspects. I read it in a day.

Never Let You Go had so many plot twists...and I loved it. Action after action, creepy happening after creepy happening, I tried my best to figure out what was happening and who the perpetrator was. I failed every time! This was a fast paced book that had me skimming a little bit because I had to know what happened, I had to see if I was right. The only time I was disappointed in the book was at the very end. I was hoping there would be one more twist because I was hoping for a different ending, a different "bad guy," if you will.

If you love animals, there is a dog in the book and he plays a substantial role in the story! I loved reading about the dynamic between Lindsey and her daughter, and the two women and how they bonded with their dog, who became protector, best friend, and clown.

This family based thriller will have you turning the pages quickly and if you have never skimmed before, you might just begin with this book because it is that suspenseful. Chevy Stevens is a talented writer who knows how to develop and describe characters in such a complete and detail-oriented way...it is impressive. Even the most minor of characters are described so thoroughly.

I highly recommend this book to readers who like mysteries, reading about family dynamics, and strong female characters. Pick up a copy, a glass of lemonade (or coffee!) and get ready to become confused, impressed, sad, glad, moved, and everything in between.

I love Chevy Stevens' books. They are so haunting. Lindsay's courage to leave her abusive husband and start a new life with her daughter and her own business is incredible. She tries to help others in her situation. There were moments when you wanted to yell at the characters, but it was a great book. Definitely worth another read.

Never Let You Go is the first book I've read by Chevy Stevens, and won't be my last. I've noticed the covers of her novels over the years and have always been captivated by them, making me wonder what stories lie within. She is an excellent writer, ramping up the tension at the right moments and causing you to question what you think you know about the characters. I loved it.

Never Let You Go is a gripping thriller that delivers a punch to the gut. Told from Lindsey and Sophie's (Lindsey's daughter) POVs as well as alternating between the past and present, I wasn't sure at first how all of that was going to work. However, I thought including scenes from the past was genius because they illustrated just how much danger Lindsey and Sophie were in with Lindsey's ex-husband (and Sophie's father), Andrew.

Andrew operates in an insidious way, and his subtle threats wouldn't have had the same impact if Lindsey had simply described her past. The reader needed to see and experience the various methods Andrew used to make sure Lindsey was under his control and miserable. During those scenes, Lindsey's suffocation from her controlling husband was palpable - I experienced those feelings right along with her.

I couldn't imagine having a father like Andrew, so when he gets out of prison, it's understandable for Sophie to desperately look for anything redeeming about her father despite everything her mother has told her about him. Still, I wanted her to stop making what I considered to be dumb decisions that could put her and her mom in danger.

I also thought it clever for the author to include other characters that had the potential to be a threat to Lindsey and Sophie. My only issue was that there might have been too many, and I started figuring out what was going on before I wanted to. I wanted to be kept guessing right up until the very end. I still highly recommend Never Let You Go for those like me who are constantly seeking new thrillers to sink their teeth into.

This was your average mystery thriller. I enjoyed it though it did take a long time for the plot to develop and I didn't care for the ending. If you enjoy mysteries and have some time to kill, give it a shot. Otherwise, you may want to bypass this one.

This spellbinding book is full of twists and turns that had me guessing until near the end. People aren't always what they appear to be. The "good guys" turned out to be a complete surprise to me.

When you start this book be prepared to want to read it in one sitting. With the way Chevy Stevens writes you are quickly drawn into the life's of Lindsey and Sophie, and the after effect of being involved in an abusive relationship has on them both. As the plot unfolds there is plenty of suspense and tension to keep you engrossed to the very last page.

I've been a fan of Chevy Stevens since reading still missing years ago, so was glad to have the chance to read and review this book.

So many twists and turns, with a woman leaving in the middle of the night to protect her daughter from her abusive husband. When he ends up in jail she finally feels free. She finds her self and raises her daughter but when he gets out years later she doesn't know if she should run again! When things go missing and items misplaced her fears come back.

Edge of my seat read, fast paced and didn't see the end coming till the very end.

This is going to be hard to believe, given that this book is right up my alley in the genre it falls into, but Never Let You Go is my very first book to read by Chevy Stevens! I know, impossible to believe, right? I could just kick myself for not reading her books earlier! This book was so fabulous!!

Lindsey is in an abusive relationship with her alcoholic husband, Andrew. When she's had enough, she takes her daughter (Emily) and they flee. When they reach a stop before their final destination, she learns shocking news...her husband was in an accident. He survives, but the other driver does not. He is sent to prison. Lindsey and Emily are able to settle in a small town and start a new life. Fast forward ten years later and her now ex-husband is released. Soon after, mysterious incidents start occurring and Lindsey has no doubt her ex-husband is out for revenge against her for leaving him.

I have to start by saying I loved Lindsey. She has so much strength and courage. One of the hardest things to do is leave an abusive, controlling relationship. When she finally gathers up enough courage and leaves Andrew, I applauded! Her number one concern throughout the book was making sure her daughter was safe. This feat in itself proved to be challenging with the strong-willed Emily. But Lindsey held her ground, and for that I commend her!

While this book's genre is suspense, it is so much more than that. It is also a story about the relationship between mother and daughter; Lindsey and Emily. I kept putting myself in Lindsey's shoes, wondering if I would have made the same decisions. It's a tough one. You want your daughter to live a life as normal as possible, but how is that possible when your obsessed ex-husband is on the loose?

As for the suspense aspect, there were so many twists and turns up until the very end. I found myself questioning everyone and everything. Who can Lindsey trust? Or, who can Emily trust? It was such an eerie feeling not knowing who was lurking around the corner.

This is a great mystery, but also a heart-felt story of the bond between mother and daughter. Highly, highly recommend!! And now excuse me while I order the rest of the authors books! :)

Brilliant book. Really good storyline. Hard to put down, wanted to keep reading.

I will preface my review by saying I am a Chevy Stevens fan. Though this novel is not my favorite of what I've read, it still was a compelling, well crafted thriller. The premise of domestic violence, escape, stalking, and psychological abuse, was interwoven so well that the story flowed really quickly and built to a strong climax. Ms. Stevens does a really good job of misdirection, so just when you think you've figured it out, you have to recalculate. I really appreciate her ability to offer readers such layered characters and complicated plots. I look forward to her next book.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this author's writing style and her ability to write such an engaging mystery full of suspense and intense moments. I did have some of the plot and events figured out and felt that the reveal wasn't a huge surprise, but that didn't take away too much from enjoying the book. I look forward to another good book from this author. I gave this 4 stars on goodreads.

Lindsey escaped an abusive marriage with her daughter Sophie, feeling safe while her ex husband Andrew was in prison. He's been released and now nothing feels safe anymore. Wonderful story of a mother's love of her daughter. Great characters and a very good story!

MISSING is still my favorite, but I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book.
