This is exactly the type of "whodunit" and police procedural I enjoy reading. With compelling plots, motives are explored, as the suspense builds. Disappointing when the book is finished, I want more!

Jules Landau is a private investigator in Chicago. He has been asked by the public defender to help provide her client with reasonable doubt. But that is not how Jules works. He wants to know who really killed a wealthy heiress found beaten to death and stuffed in the top of her apartment’s closet. Her building has a doorman and concierge so how could a killer even get into the building?

Jules is dating a gal who owns a bakery and trying to keep out of the reaches of a crooked cop who wants to do him harm so he has his hands full trying to find out the real “who done it” in this case.

From an affable doorman to a sleezy lawyer, there are plenty of suspects to think about before finding the real killer.

A very complex murder, mystery with a denouement in the best traditions of criminology. Great characters and a believable storyline, come together, to make this a fascinating story..
