Good start to a new cozy series, I love the main character and her relationships with her friends and the town folk in general.

One character I hated! when you read it you will know exactly who I mean and I really, really wanted to see them hit very hard in the groinal area multiple times with heavy objects but that might just be me.

I have the 2nd book in this series on my kindle and I think I'm gonna have to pick it up to get back into this world. Hopefully I'll be able to post a review quicker than I have been doing!

*Huge thanks to Sharon Farrow, Kensington Books and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own*

A wonderful mystery. I love the setting on Lake Michigan. I like to imagine what it would be like to live in a small town on the Great Lakes.
Marlee Jacob is a fun heroine. I wish her nemesis had a different name.
If you like the cozy mystery genre give this a try.

I really enjoyed this first book in a cozy mystery series. The main character ,Marlee, was great, and I thought her shop, the Berry Basket, made a great setting, along with the rest of Farrow's fictional town of Oriole Point. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and the mystery storyline. I hope there will be more in the series!

Marlee Jacobs is a hard working small business owner in a quaint north eastern town and she and her follow business owners like it that way. So no one is really disappointed when the local blowhard dies except that it looks like Marlee may have been an accomplice to the head splitting act. If that wasn't bad enough, a nightmare from the past has resurfaced and her finance isn't helping matters with his empathetic attitude. Was it the Mayor's wife, the town council, or Marlee who halted corporate franchise take overs or was it someone else all together? Great read looking forward to the next. Although I'm not too sure about Ryan the fiancé.

Delightfully delicious read. Didn't really care for the domestic violence subject undertone, but it is a fact and reality of life. I enjoyed the quirky and delightful characters.
