This book has delicious recipes, plus a great explanatory section about the detoxing effects of certain foods. It also explains the rationale for doing things in a certain way (for instance, drinking water throughout the day rather than a huge amount all at once). I think that following the principles in this book will help me to stay healthy!

Overall this book was a good read. It is very informative and helpful. While the recipes are very thought out and interesting, I found that some of the ingredients were expensive and hard to find. In those cases I adjusted the recipes accordingly. While they still tasted ok, I'm sure they would have been better. My only suggestion would to list alternate ingredients or instructions if certain items are hard to find.
I have seen Julie Daniluk in person live a couple of times and follow her on social media and enjoy her recipes and articles. Any health conscious person will enjoy this book.
I was given this book on a complimentary basis by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Whenever I hear the word detox, I always think of days on end of boring, liquid drinks; therefore, I have had no plans for trying a detox. Ever. Thank you very much.

That all changed when I came across this book, and offered to give it a whirl and review it, thinking perhaps, one or two days at the most, and I would be finished with it. I was pleasantly surprised by all the helpful diagrams and easy-to-understand information about how our bodies work, followed by the detox plans and recipes that weren't all liquid! Let me tell you--if I knew how to do cartwheels--I would. This is a detox made for people like me who have no desire to give up food!

There are recipes for pancakes and bread! Honestly, they aren't your traditional white flour foods, but they are good! And the author added breakfast bars, soups, bone broths and salads. There is even fish, eggs, chicken and beans.

I don't think you can go wrong with this book.

Great book with a lot of information. You will need to read it slow to digest it. I am hoping that I can give it a try.

This book has encouraged me to be mindful of the food I provide. It gives the information and opportunity to look at food in a different. A different view on detox. What an interesting read, with information to inform and challenge my eating habits. A way of writing that drew me in. It felt as though I had a personal nutritionalist who was guiding me to new pathways of eating. Explanations which make sense, then leading me to ingredients and recipes.

Hippocrates: Let your food be your medicine, your medicine be your food.
Visually the book is very attractive with good quality illustrations. The first part is fantastic with very useful and easy to understand information about the basic physiology of the organs involved in the metabolism of food and how to detoxify them. The second and third part is where she explains the plan in detail and includes many tasty recipes. I want to point out that the information is based on the ancestral holistic knowledge of India and China, but also integrates Western scientific, medical and nutrition research.
This book is very enjoyable, it also contains some online resources like some very nice videos. I recommend this book as a resource to preserve health, prevent cancer and diseases associated with the immune system and inflammatory processes, such as arthritis, among others. I have benefited a lot from following some of the advice of Julie Daniluk, I am a nervous person and this affects my bowels that are inflamed frequently, and by adjusting my diet with the plan I have managed to feel great. In addition I love the species and the condiments, the flavors of the Indian food; And not only can I enjoy the aromas, but I benefit a lot from the energies with hot chi, because of my type of metabolism and the cold energies in my body (vata kapha).
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

This book sounded fabulous and I couldn't wait to start reading. I used to do a full detox every new year to rid myself of the Christmas excesses but as I've got older I find I just don't have the willpower anymore but my eldest daughter is getting married this year and so I'm determined to lose some weight and get in shape and I was going to kick it all off with a detox and a hot detox sounded good.
This is a well written and laid out book all the basics of detoxing are explained giving the benefits of why it's good for you and the hot detox is explained plus there's loads of recipes.
My problem was I just didn't like many of the recipes and I've decided I'm probably better doing my own, after so many years of detoxing I've got a good idea of what to eat anyway.
The recipes are split into:
Liquid Healing
Meals to Begin the Day
Soups and Sides
Salads, Dips and Dressings
Main Meals
Special Occassion Treats
If you're new to detoxing or want to try something different then this might be worth a look but it wasn't really for me.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Hay House

This is a fantastic start into learning and getting a base line knowledge of Detoxing.

It offers a wonderful overview of why and how people should detox, why the body needs a detox and how you can find the perfect detox fit for your personal needs.

The recipes the books include are also very nice, easy and mostly very fast too make and very basic. In other words, wonderful for anyone that doesn't really know how and what to make and eat while you are detoxing your body.

I personally already know a bit about Detoxing and have been doing it around two times a year for maybe the last 8 to 10 years, so this book didn't offer me personally a lot of new information!
So if you are someone like me? Not new to Detoxing and know what you need in a detox and know how to make simple detox meals?
Maybe this will not offer you any new information or any new recipe ideas.

It was still a nice book too flip through and read a few information again to re-fresh my knowledge.

But as i said, if you are new to the whole detox world? This will be one of the best starts i have seen up until this point, so give it a look through, see if you can find something interesting and new to you and then decide!

I thought this was an interesting take on the whole detox conversation, which normally manifests in green juice and salads. Instead, the author referred back to ayuvedic principles and suggested we eat warm food when detoxing! This radical idea has its roots in ancient knowledge but the book doesn't shy away from modern science either, using research to explain toxins in a real way, rather than as some ethereal "thing" that is bad for us. Well done!
