It just wasn't for me. DNF.

Sorry for the delay in feedback. I'm working on clearing out my Netgalley backlog.

Couldn't get past the first chapter. Read like a rough draft and everything happened way too quickly. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters and felt nothing when someone died.

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be an adult book or YA. And it's a planned trilogy? Meh. The premise sounded intriguing; really gruesome. but the story really just did not hold my interest. I even set it aside on several occasions, only to pick it up later and read a bit and still not find it very attention getting. maybe better editing? IDK. Maybe later books will improve. I'd rate the books for YA's. It just sounded sooo good!

Thank you to Taylor Hondos and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest opinions.
I could not put this book down, trying to figure out a cure for the disease was fast paced and brilliant. Looking forward to reading the second instalment

The premise sounded interesting, but the execution was lacking.

I wanted to love this book. The description sounded great and I was really interested in reading Antidote. There are just so many holes in the story line that never really get explained and there isn't much depth to the characters. The book felt very slow at times and was hard to get into. I expected this to be a book that I could not put down and just had to keep reading. I know this is to be the first book in a trilogy. I hope that some of the holes in the story line will be explained in the other books. (i.e. What exactly happened to Lena's parents? They were killed but no idea of who was responsible and the reason isn't quite clear. Why did Lena suddenly become so important more than a year after their deaths and why were "they" suddenly after her?)

I really wanted to like this book, The Premise if great and I felt like it had such great potential, however the characters were really cliche, I did not like the main character at all. I felt like the the story didn't flow very well either.

I tried to force myself to read this one, partly for a reading challenge and partly because I hate to DNF ARCs from the publisher, but I just couldn't do this one. It seemed to jump from one thing to another with no consistency. The dialog between the characters is very stilted and unrealistic. I just couldn't make myself stick with it. The premise of the story seems promising, but the writing needs work.
