Classified Christmas Mission was a great continuation to Lynette Eason's Wrangler's Corner series. I loved the characters and getting to read Amber's story. I found it fascinating that she could so skillfully hide her true job from her family and no one guessed it. So fun!

The suspense was good. I liked the beginning and how Lance happened upon her by accident and was there to help when needed. There were a few moments towards the middle of the book where I wasn't 100% into the story, but for the most part it held my attention and was an easy read.

All in all, I recommend Classified Christmas Mission. I don't think you need to read the previous books in the series.

I love this book, and have followed the series so it was wonderful to come 'home' to this family/town. Amber's family thinks she is a travelling photojournalist. She is really CIA. She has just stopped by home for a quick grab and disappear when things take a turn she didn't expect. Lance, her family's friend and her high school crush, is the white knight.
I think Lance was my favorite of these characters. He is so strong and steady. He likes Amber and her new son but the timing is off (or so he thinks). I do adore how close this family is and how disbelieving some are of Amber's job. I wasn't sure I was going to like one of the characters but it turns out that I do. The story flows well and the author does a great job of making you feel like you are there with them in the book.
It was a 5/5 for me. Cannot wait to see the next events that happen in this 'quiet' little town.

Lynette Eason is one of my go to authors in the suspense, romance, Christian category. This book is no exception. There is an extra element of cheering for good over evil because of the innocence of the autistic child that is being kept from harm.
I liked the interaction between characters. Although this is a stand alone, I did feel I would benefit from having read the other books in the series before this one. There seemed to be history that couldn't exactly be filled in.

Another good addition to a great series.

I'm a sucker for police and military stories and children in stories don't bother me like they do some readers. So, I was hopeful for this story. The author is new to me but the blurb was promising. Sadly, it was just okay. I seem to be in the minority though as over here on goodreads it has lots of 4 and 5 star ratings. Ah well.

I don't know much about the CIA, mainly what I read in books and see in movies but much of Amber's story and actions struck me as implausible and I questioned just how competent she really was. There were a few surprises and the story was moderately suspenseful but certainly not as thrilling or snail-biting as it could have been. The portrayal of a child with autism was fairly well-done, if slightly stereotypical.

The romance was was the strongest part of the story. There were sparks between Amber and Lance and they meshed well together. They knew each other growing up and the sparks had been there for years. Since this part of a series, there were references to events in previous books but that didn't slow down the story for me, it worked as a stand alone. And with a history between, the romance moving as quickly as it did was believable. They already knew each other, had been friends, so they had a foundation. I wanted a happy ending for them, and for the boy, Sam.

This is an inspirational title so there's talk of the Christian God and accepting Christ as the savior but it wasn't heavy-handed and it fit smoothly into the story.

While I didn't love the story, I'm intrigued enough to read more in the series if I have the chance.
