It was a joy to read this book! Everything about it was wonderful - the characters, the setting, the twists and the triumphs! Nurse Sloan is admired for caring for all the patients but knows her past hides shameful things. Mitch would love to see her face on billboards as an example of exemplary caring from hospital employees, but Sloan demands her privacy to hide her secrets. How the story plays out is very much worth the reading! I look forward to reading other books by this author!
I appreciate being able to read this complimentary e-book from the publishers, and the thoughts expressed are my own.

This is definitely not a light hearted read, it did give me alot to think about though. I haven’t read any other books by this author and I’d be interested to see what they are like to compare.

Calvert's third Crisis Team novel is definitely romantic, but also has elements of action and suspense as well. The medical and crisis team aspects take a bit of a backseat to Sloane's character growth and development, but this gives the book more depth because the dark parts of Sloane's personality were featured in the series' second installment. This novel shows the very realistic changes Sloane makes and the struggles she experiences integrating them into her life. Although this book is a stand-alone, it is better when read as a part of the series. Sloane's and Micah's faith journeys are also memorable and true to life.
Sloane Ferrell changed her name and moved to a different city to get a fresh start away from the bad influences and trauma of her past. Yet after she helps a young girl named Zoey, mysterious things begin to happen, and the people she thought she escaped seem to be back in her life again. Sloane is working through a 12-step program to help get her life in order after long struggles with alcoholism rooted in past abuse. She meets Micah Prescott, the hospital's new PR guru, and there is definitely attraction. As they grow closer, can they truly develop a relationship when Sloane is hiding so much about her past?

Woman scarred by her past, by all of her faults and messes. How can she not see her hurt self in the "lowest" of people entering the hospital she works for? How can she not treat anyone as one of her own? Because they are of her own "tribe" - the outcasts, the misfits, the messed-up people. Compassion, you say? Hardly. She is as messed up as they are.
But Micah (and Sloane's colleagues and friends (if she would allow such relationships to form)) see her in the different light. Like a woman offering dignity and hope.
And she is that and more. But there are worlds of pain, fear and shame hidden in Sloane's heart. And maybe the time has come to deal with them.
And maybe not just for her.

What a novel! This is a rare gem of novel, treating the heroine with such love and empathy, that I can only wish for such a treatment in my less than spectacular (or all) days. This novel embraces its heroes completely, lovingly and understandingly, creating such a safe place for the wounded and wounding hearts (and we all are messed-up somehow), than one can look at the mirror and see not face of shame, sin, pain and fear, but a face of hope.
I rarely see that kind of empathy in Christian fiction (exceptions are Francine Rivers and Lisa Samson for me). Sinner mostly needs to righten themselves. But HOW? It is rarely easy to go on the redemptive path and keeping on that journey. And most of the sinners are that way because someone had sinned against them, too.
Take Sloane. Heaps of abuse, lack of parental care, the wrong men. No wonder she took on alcohol, that she hardened her heart, that she is cold and ironic. Yet - she cares for the abandoned kitties and young girls and there is this natural - yes, empathy - about the misfits like her. And this is more than the most people could do in her shoes.
And Micah is attracted. And he is successful in his courting. But to be healed, one must confront their demons. Sloane knows about hers. Micah also knows his, or he thinks so. And here comes one of the most beautiful motifs (of a bit hidden) - that he needs to confront his own heart to see his own world of hurt in the new, rescuing light.

Beautiful. Rich. Layered. Never a dull moment. Informative. Healing.
Recommended.

Maybe It's You is an intense medical drama. This page turner has romance, suspense, and complex, interesting characters. The main character, Sloane, is hard to like at the beginning of the book. A victim of her own poor choices, she is also of others as her life spirals out of control. As she tries to put her life back together, she becomes a strong woman that you cheer for. I've worked in hospitals in the past, and the medical scenes seemed true to life. The entire book is well-written, and even though it is part of a series, I had no trouble reading it as a standalone novel. I would strongly recommend this book to fans of Christian romance and medical drama.

Candace Calvert writes interesting, hard to put down medical stories that are quite enjoyable! Maybe It's You was a lot of fun to read through.

Great book! A good standalone novel in spite of being part of a series. The characters were believable as were the medical situations. Strong suspense both in the hospital setting and outside of the medical world.. The Emergency Room stories were especially riveting. The stories were very real and timely, taken from today's headlines. I found this book both heartwarming and heart-wrenching. It would be impossible not to get pull in. A good, clean, romance: I would recommend this book to anyone. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book.

Love stories that have intrigue at the hospital. Wonderful author. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Maybe It’s You by Candace Calvert is the third book in the “Crisis Team” series published by Tyndale House, and it is the first book that I’ve read in this series. It worked well as a stand alone; I didn’t even realize that it was part of a series until I began writing this review. This is not my usual genre, with murder and suspense and medical drama, and it’s over 440 pages…but I found myself gripped to the story just the same (although I wouldn’t recommend reading while eating your lunch like I did, because there are several scenes that can make you lose your appetite).

Sloane Ferrel is on the run from many mistakes that are trying to catch up with her, both mistakes she’s made and mistakes from others in her past. She comes to work in the L.A. ER as a nurse with a new identity, where she just wants to blend in and escape her past. But that sounds easier than it is when Micah Prescott’s campaign to remake the face of the L.A. hospital involves putting the face of one employee on billboards around town.

Micah Prescott just wants to remake the reputations of both himself and L.A. Hope hospital, but is intrigued by the new nurse and curious as to why she is so private. Things escalate though when a mysterious young girl becomes a victim and then disappears out of the ER.

WOW, what a book! There was never a dull moment; it had so many twists and turns that every time I’d thought I’d figured something out, it would turn out to be a lie! The characters sucked me right in; I was cheering for them the whole way through. I would recommend this for lovers of suspense and medical drama, but be aware that there are some intense scenes. Since this is the only book I’ve read in this series, I can’t speak too well for my favorite out of them so far, but I loved how this book worked well as a stand alone even being the 3rd in the series.

Candace Calvert has delivered another fabulous read in her Crisis Team series. Fans of medical drama, contemporary romance, and suspense will enjoy seeing a very different side to Sloane Ferrell than we encountered in an earlier book in this series. Yes, this book can be read as a standalone, but it’s even better within the series. While the spiritual takeaways are not preachy or overwhelming, they do play a significant, and at times surprising role in the story, which I enjoyed seeing. And of course, I loved seeing the development of the relationship between Sloane and Micah. Their relationship has a sweet quality to it, and progressed in what felt like a very realistic way. I was definitely rooting for them throughout the book. Highly recommended.

Thank you to the publisher for providing a complimentary electronic copy of the book via NetGalley for review purposes.

This delightful medical drama was my first be Calvert but I'm so intrigued by this book in this series that I can't wait to rad the others. Sloane and Micah were a great couple. I felt like I was living their days int eh hospital with them.

I am a huge fan of Candace Calvert's books, so needless to say, I was so excited when I got approved to read this new book. Calvert has done an excellent job of writing this book. The story slowly gets better and better as you go along. She throws in a perfect amount of suspense to keep the reader guessing until the end. I love a good surprise!

This book contains some heavy subject material and is definitely not a "light summer read" so keep that in mind if thrillers are not your cup of tea.

Maybe It's You is the second book I've read lately that focuses on forgiveness, so maybe God is trying to catch my attention! One line from the book that I absolutely love said this: "We see our scars and our flaws . . . God sees the child he’s always loved." Isn't it amazing to know that God loves us no matter what and He will always offer us forgiveness and grace.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the advanced copy of this book. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to others.

4.5 stars
While I didn't identify as closely with Sloane as I did with Taylor in the last book, I still really enjoyed this story. Sloane has issues, a boatload of them, and is all too aware of the fact. While others see her as doing everything she can to care for her patients, even ones other nurses don't like to help (smelly drunkards, etc), she sees herself as worthless and beyond grace. Add to that the whole bit, carried over from the second book, of her being still on the run from whoever her worthless ex-fiancé cheated and the people who knocked her car off a cliff in the last book.

I felt that the characters were quite interesting and the writing itself is excellent. Candace Calvert is a talented author and is newly on my favorites list. I especially appreciated that the romance wasn't just focused on looks and was free of sensuality, and that the book is free of profanity and crude slang.

Christian message: Sloane had believed for a time in her girlhood, but life got in the way and faith dropped aside. She now must accept that grace is even for such a she is.

Now, I'm an animal lover in general and always enjoy pets in stories. Cat lovers in particular are going to love Sloane's spunky black kitten, Marty!

I received a free ebook copy from NetGalley for review purposes. I am glad to report that, after getting approved to read this and realizing it was the last of a series, I got the other two books from the church library and have now discovered a great new-to-me author who was previously not on my radar. :)

Sloan Ferrell barely manages to stay one step ahead of the mobster monsters chasing her because of her association with her e-fiancé, Paul Stryker. She has succeeded in evading them, and him, and continues to do everything in her power to keep it that way by moving, changing her name and her persona. Being run off a highway and over a cliff tends to get their message through loud and clear.
Maybe It’s You, is the third in the series, Crisis Team by Candace Calvert. Nonetheless, it works well as a stand-alone. You don’t miss anything by not having the back story.
I enjoyed reading the newest book in the series. However, I struggled with some of the imagery due to PTSD. If, like me, this can be an issue for you, be advised there are several extremely intense scenes depicting mob type revenge.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Maybe It’s You, is that I didn’t guess the outcome. I guessed one subtle detail, but not the overall result. I enjoy books like this immensely. I read so many books that accurately guessing the outcome is almost second nature to me. Thank you, Ms. Calvert, for a book so full of twists, turns and shockers that the ending is a complete surprise.
Candace Calvert thrills again with her newest addition to her medical romantic thrillers.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a well done Christian fiction. I liked all the characters and enjoyed how we got to see quite a bit from the supporting characters a series well. I haven't read any other in this series, which I think might have helped just a bit, but by no means was necessary to understand and enjoy this one. Also, being a nurse, I enjoy a good medically set drama ;)

This was a riveting medical suspense drama. The characters were unique with great depth. I very much appreciated the character development of both Micah and Sloane. They were developed separately as they were becoming closer to each other. Really, this is one of the best books that I have read in a while of this genre. Highly reccommended!

This is the third book in the series and you don't have to have read the previous two to thoroughly enjoy this story. As I started to read this story and got involved in it, I had to tell myself not to cry it was so emotional at one point. Another lovely story by author Candace Calvert and I cannot wait for the next one.

Sloane, a capable, feisty nurse who puts patients' needs above the politicking at her hospital and personal opinions of the staff, has a past to hide. When that security seems threatened, she goes head-to-head with Micah, the hospital's assistant director of marketing and public relations, to keep her identity a secret. Her desire to help the helpless continue to get her in trouble, and when Sloane's boyfriend with a checkered past find her again, she is drawn back into the intrigue. This is happening while Micah tries to find the hospital's next Face of Hope, a marketing campaign to revamp the hospital's tarnished image - a campaign that draws Micah closer to this feisty nurse. As expected sparks fly and emotions run wild... well at least a little wild.

Maybe It's You is little bit of mystery mixed with a little bit of romance. In true Candace Calvert style, it is set in the world of nurses and doctors who care a great deal for those they treat. For me, it was an easy, enjoyable read.

Thank you to Tyndale House Publishers and NetGalley for the e-copy of this book. The opinions are all my own.

Maybe It's You by Candace Calvert is third in her Crisis Team series. Calvert, with her trauma nurse background, brings believable medical drama, suspense, and romance together and creates a book you won't want to miss. The characters are evocative and true to life with their flawed foibles and faults. Will Sloane (scarred and saucy) ever be free of her past? Will Micah (is he just a snake oil salesman?) be able to let go of the hurt and sorrow of his past? Calvert touches on the very real and raw subject of human trafficking and does it with tact and discretion. Woven throughout the story is the message of second chances through knowing the God of grace and hope, the God who loves you just as you are and has a picture of you and me on his ginormous fridge in Heaven.

This is my first read of the Crisis Team series, but I didn't feel confused. I feel like the author fleshed out nicely the past history. Sloane is an amazing person. I love that she has overcome some things in life and still is kind and compassionate.
Micah is a good complement to Sloane. I feel you understand each character better through the other character.
This is a fast paced enjoyable book. I liked the intensity. I loved the whole cereal thing - funny. I was truly surprised at the end. Didn't see that coming.
I'll be reading Candance Calvert again.
