I wasn't sure about this book. The synopsis sounded interesting and then I was interested in some parts and not in others. It had a quick pace and the town was interesting.

Thanks to AJ Lape and publisher for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review

<p>Fifteen years ago, Darcy Walker's parents thought it was a good idea to give her a unique name: Darcy, meaning “dark walker.” Whether that was a stroke of genius or stroke of stupid, they definitely nailed the irony. She lacks direction, her grades stink despite a high IQ, she's boringly average—although flirting admirers claim otherwise—and God help her, she's infatuated with a bad boy.</p>

<p>A bad boy that her hottie best friend, Dylan, wishes would get acquainted with his fist.</p><p>With her life spiraling out of control, everything changes when she skips class and finds a dead body...in fact, it gets worse. It jump-starts Darcy's inner-verb, and her brain hardwired for action gets caught up in a situation she can’t let go.</p><p>Set in the fictional Cincinnati town of Valley, Ohio, Darcy falls into a world of threats, violence, and gangland exploits chasing down every clue to finger the murderer. When a fellow misfit is arrested for the crime, Darcy goes from zero-to-sixty trying to clear his name—constructing aliases, breaking the law, everything that makes perfect sense to her but reeks of Grade A Stupid to everyone else.</p><p>Trouble is…will she live to see sixteen?</p>
<strong>So these are the reasons why I didn't make it to the end.</strong>
<div>
<div>

<strong>1) Boring</strong>

<div>

<strong>2) Attention</strong>

<div>

<strong>3) Annoying</strong>

</div>

</div><p>The reviews were right! Even now re-reading the book summary I'm still wondering why I requested this book. Even in the book description Darcy comes across annoying.</p><p>I honestly though this was going to be one of those reads that just makes you fall in love with the characters. Girl meets bad boy <em>(bad boy isn't a bad boy at heart just misunderstood)</em>, girl falls in love and everything is right with the world!</p><p>The characters were just so <em><strong>"annoying"</strong></em> like REALLY REALLY annoying!</p>

This book was a quick and fun read. I loved the characters and the mystery/thriller plot was great. It was not what I expected at all when I started to read, but a great read nevertheless.

This book was simply AHHH that is everything I can state. It was only that great. It was sooo not what I was anticipating. I have no clue why it entered my thoughts that this book would have some paranormal in it. LOL I felt like such a trick. That didn't prevent me from perusing and I'm happy that I proceeded. I was dependent from the begin. I was endeavoring to make sense of who the executioner was the entire time. I resembled WHO IS IT!!!!! What's more, when we at last make sense of whom it was the individual just entered my thoughts once. There was such a significant number of things going on thus much data being given that you would figure you would wind up noticeably confounded. In any case, I didn't. There was simply so much puzzle and risk it was entrancing. Darcy is not at all like any character I have seen some time recently, however I'll discuss her later. Despite the fact that it was brimming with risk I was chuckling more often than not. Darcy was simply clever. Different circumstances I was dismal and gnawing my nails. The entire book was composed fabulously and I would transform anything about the book or the characters. I can hardly wait for No Brainer and perceive the amount more inconvenience Darcy can get into.

AJ Lape has composed a wild, puzzling ride loaded with anticipation, interest and activity. In spite of the fact that this book is marked for Young Adult, the smart and clever discourse, points of view and scene portrayal is a long ways past a run of the mill YA novel. I feel this to a greater degree a New Adult piece, and perusers with an energy for interest will appreciate this book. Loaded with some peculiar fun contemplations of a high school sleuth, I wound up pulling for the courageous woman, swooning for the closest companion, and longing for garbage sustenance. An awesome, elegantly composed book for both the progressed YA peruser and grown-ups!
