I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Helen Hardt book I've read, and she did no disappoint. This book was dark, fast, and so damn sexy. I couldn't put it down! The story follows Talon Steel, a tortured soul trying to find his way, but of course, nothing in life goes as planned. Jade Roberts comes crashing into his world and everything gets turned on its head for these two complex characters. I was very impressed with both Hardt's writing abilities and her talent of consuming the reading into an engrossing story. Well done, Helen!

I'm waiting on pins and needles for book two!

I was really excited to read this book. This book received so much hype everywhere I turned, but for me, this book fell flat. It felt rushed and I felt as if there was no character growth. Jade a lot of the time really annoyed me. She was so quick to say one thing about Talon but do another. Poor Talon, he was one messed up guy. He had so many issues but held them in so for so long it made him closed off from everyone. He was my favorite character out this book. I just hated the way he always hid behind sex, yes he was attracted to Jade but he whenever he didn’t want to talk or avoid his feelings he always turned it to sex. I was let down by this book but I’m willing to at least give the second book in this series a chance before I decide not to finish.

Great romantic suspense story. The characters were great together and story line hooks you quickly.

Being left at the altar can really put life in perspective. Jade decides to change her life after a failed attempt to get married. There she meets Talon Steele. He was everything that was missing from her past relationships and the one person who filled the pieces of her she didn’t know were missing. Will Jade help Talon heal from his painful past allowing him to finally take a create of freedom he denied himself for so long?

I loved this story from start to finish. I cannot wait to see what happens with the couple in the next book in the series and find out the answers to many questions I have about what happened to the main male character in the story.

Jade Roberts remembers the handsome rich and older Steel brothers also swooning a little for all of them since Jade is best friend to Marjorie Steel. Of course Jade tells herself that she doesn’t really care for them because she is in love with Colin her fiancée. Unfortunately Colin also broke Jade’s heart leaving her at the altar in front of their family and friends. So Marjorie invites Jade to stay with her in Colorado along with her older enigmatic aloof brother Talon. Jade jumps at the chance despite being heartbroken she hasn’t given up on life. Jade awaits her law bar results and even gets a job at the winery where Marjorie’s other brother Ryan owns. When Jade meets Talon though sparks fly and both can’t ignore the attraction they have for each other. Talon has deep dark secrets that make it difficult for him to admit his true feelings for Jade that he craves Jade and can’t live without her. Will Talon’s true feelings though put a wedge between them separating them or bringing them closer together?
Sometimes I have to read a book that is getting so much hype just like this book by Ms. Helen Hardt. There is the ever popular alpha aloof handsome billionaire with a complex and deep dark psychological secrets that everyone wants but he desires a girl above everyone written or is even seen in movies now in mainstream that we either love them, desire or even hate them. I think in a small way I even want the heroes to be like these people because I read about them so much that every rich guy is supposed to be like this. That in reality these people in real life would be scary and dangerous possibly even in a mental institution but still I find them fascinating. Ms. Hardt definitely delivers in this story but yet also knows how to write an engaging provocative alluring tale with characters that are very three dimensional in actual real life. In fact so real that you can smell the ranch and even I can see myself there too.
When Ms. Hardt first describes Jade you couldn’t help but like her. She might be heartbroken and humiliated but there is also a steely strength about her too. Jade doesn’t just roll over and give up she goes on with her life. She picks herself up awaits her bar results gets a good job and even gives a part of herself to Talon. I am not disgusted by her choices either because in truth if I was in her shoes I can see myself reacting the same way to Talon. In fact I can see myself being a friend to Jade too if she actually existed. What can I say about Talon? Talon is definitely beautiful, handsome, intimidating, rich, haughty, enigmatic and damaged. There is definitely more to him than meets the eye. He fascinates, intrigues me yet also does scare me somewhat still I can’t help but fall for him a little bit. I wondered at his flashbacks especially when he comes from the Steel family. I did get to see a glimpse of why he’s like that but still there is something that makes him totally approachable but yet staying unapproachable too. Despite his hot then cold behavior I liked him and wanted more. I have hope for Talon even though this book ends in a cliffhanger and a stalemate I believe in Talon and yes I will definitely read the rest in the Steel Brothers saga!

This book was a really page turner! There were hot, hot scenes but also a lot of mystery and unanswered questions that compelled me to keep going. I was gutted with the cliffhanger ending! Need more now!!

Loved this book filled with mystery, suspense and love. Jade is getting over a relationship and Talon has secrets. The more Talon pushes her away the more she wants him but his secrets forced him to make a decision that affects their relationship. This book kept me on the edge up to the end. It's a cliffhanger. This is my first time reading anything from Hardt. I really enjoyed the in depth characters and storyline. I didn't care for the fact that the book ended in a cliffhanger. Note, I did receive a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley.

I thought that I was going to love this book when I first started reading this book. The angst an the unhappiness expanded as the book went on. I don't like cliffhangers, but I can deal with them if the leave you craving the story. I am curious on the story ends, but I don't know if I'll buy the next book. I like happily ever afters, and this ending was in the completely opposite direction. I might give her another chance.

Ok, so I made a crazy mistake and started this series way later. So back to book 1! I am in love with this story. Though heartbreaking, and ending on a cliffy, it starts this whole crazy mystery they have to all unravel. Plus Jade and Talon so deserve love. There are more questions than answers and this is just the beginning, but I look forward to unwrapping each bit of info and seeing how it unfolds.

I have reveived this book as an ARC from NetGalley with the intentions of writing a truthful review.

OMG!!! I loved this books sooo much. I read this book in one sitting. It draws you in so quickly. Jade was left at the alter and went to live on the ranch of her very rich best friend Marjorie, who has a set-up for her. Marji's brother, Talon, meets Jade at the airport. At first sight, it was instant chemistry. The only problem Talon was in the military and suffered from something horrific that happened to him as a child. This childhood trauma has lead Talon to dominate any women in the bedroom, and he had built up major walls around his emotions. Can these two ever get past his pain?

**Advanced copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher**

Craving is the first book in the Steel Brothers Saga and it does end in a cliffhanger, so that is something to know right off the top. I know it isn't everyone's thing, so I like to point that out when I can.

The characters of Jade and Talon are extremely flawed, they are both conflicted and dealing with emotional baggage. The chemistry between the two is explosive and there is a lot of heat and passion between them.

The question is are the walls that they have built to protect their hearts too tall to let another person in? Will they ever be able to truly open up to one another?

Four Stars
Steamy read with good build up.
Jade was such a great heroine.
Talon took some time to warm up to, but I eventually got there. There was something about him that felt forced.
Super intrigued by the next book in the series to see where this couple goes.

This book had be captivated from page one. Helen Hardt knows how to weave a storyline and make you fall in love with each character. The brooding, troubled Talon Steel has demons in his past that he must face that he has no desire to face until Jade Roberts, his sisters best friend comes along. Will she be the one to unlock his past and help him get the help he does not think that he needs. Grab a copy and curl up for a read you will not forget.

Jade had never met one of Marjorie’s brother’s his name was Talon. When Marjorie and Jade were in college. She had met Jonah and Ryan. as they often visited. They were ranchers from Colorado. Jade was in love with Colin. Jade felt like the ugly stepsister Talon was to pick up Jade at the airport. Talon had been deployed to Iraq when Mary and Jade were in college. Collin and Jade were suppose to be on their honeymoon but Collin left Jade at the altar. But Jade wasn’t upset as she should have been she knew Collin and her had drifted a part. Marg was to have been her maid of honor and talked Jade into coming to the ranch. Jade knew she could be a lawyer anywhere. Jade was Jade was very attracted to Talon and couldn’t understand herself when she should have been recently married to Collin. Jade couldn’t sleep, she never could sleep in a strange bed the first night. She went down to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and Talon sat there with a glass of water in front of him. And he had his dog next to him. He didn’t really talk but as when Jade went to leave Talon didn’t really want her to leave and pulled her into his arms and that kiss went all that shot all the way to her core. The second night Talon did the same thing but also caressed one of her breasts. Jade got a job with Ryan temporarily.. Ryan ran the wine section of Steel Enterprises. Jade would help the receptionists and also help run the wine tasting when many people came to the winery. The next time Talon kissed Jade he told her to stay away from the kitchen at night. Talon wanted Jade so desperately and he let her know that. Talon told Jade he only too and Talon k that he had nothing to give and he would never love her. Jade said that was okay she wanted him too. Talon also told Jade he would hurt her but Jade stayed anyway and Talon took Jade to her room to have sex. Jade had been told Talon was off and different by both his older and younger brother but she couldn’t stay away from him.
I loved this story until the end and it was a cliffhanger and I HATE CLIFFHANGERS . Also this story left a number of unanswered questions so right there is two strikes but I loved the plot. I loved Jade and Talon together and was rooting for them.. I also loved Marg and Jade’s relationship .Also loved how Ryan and Jonah treat Jade so well. I felt bad how tormented Talon was and how much he needed Jade but kept pushing her away. There was so much I loved about this book I have it four. I just felt even though there was two major things. I didn’t like and would have made - normally a three but the story really did deserve more . I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend

I'm excited to read more about the Steele family. I hope the writing style gets smoother as the series progresses. It was a bit stilted in this particular book. There are some characters her though that I would like to get to know better so I will be looking forward to book number two...

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
