I actually read this book a few weeks ago, but it took awhile to get what I really wanted to say about it. I enjoyed the book, but that's because I often read lesfic that is filled with drama and rushed relationships. This was a very nice change of pace. It read more like a late coming of age book with a lesbian relationship.

I would have given this a 4 star rating if the reason for the denial that Sue felt about her sexuality was a little more dramatic. I didn't think that her story warranted THAT big of a denial. Her best friend is a lesbian, she had attractions to women and still she pushed down her sexuality? I guess in reality it could be possible, but for the sake of the book, I just felt something a little more dramatic would have worked better.

Other than that I enjoyed the slow roll of how the relationship unfolded. The descriptions of what Sue felt being back home was incredible. I really connected to her relationship with her home country.

Overall: 3.5 stars, slow easy read.
If you like lots of drama this might not be the book for you.
