A story of love and loyalty. I had a bit of trouble with the different generations and I did loose who I was reading about
My thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'd put this into the category of historical fiction. There is definite history involved in the story, but the details are all the author's idea.

Sara is shaken after bombings in London and finds herself at her childhood home. Missing her older sister who left home a decade earlier, the reader is treated to a look at the past and present and how several people are tied to a much earlier bombing in Coventry.

If you are looking for a light read, this isn't it. You'll need some brain cells firing to keep track of what happened to whom and when. But, if you like to see threads woven through lives over time, then this is a great book to read.

Family secrets loom large in this carefully plotted well written historical novel. Graham has done an especially good job with weaving her characters through world events; you'll learn a little bit as well as enjoy the sweep. Thanks to netgalley for this= I had not read Graham before but I'm going to look for her in the future. Recommend this if you enjoy family sagas from a female perspective.

This is my first novel from this author and I love the story of family secrets. The book started out slow and I didn't know where it was going. Then it got interesting. Why I gave this 4 stars because of the characters. I don't hate the characters, but I don't find them interesting, either. I just find them bland.

I was given this book by NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley.
