Lisa Brunette has another fabulous book with Framed and Burning. The storyline sucks you into the story until you're not sure sure which way is up or down! It has constant thrilling runs and hold your breath moments.
I'd buy this for my mystery loving friends!
Fabulous!

The Dreamslippers are a family of PIs who solve crimes using their ability to 'slip' into your dreams. But that isn't easy. In Framed and Burning, they have to defend one of their own. Someone sets fire to Mick Travers' art studio, killing his assistant, and Mick won't give an alibi. His sister is convinced he's innocent, but her granddaughter and the police aren't so sure. Was it really Mick, or is something even darker behind the fire?

FRAMED AND BURNING is a different type of mystery in that it delves in the world of the dream. Amazing Grace, her granddaughter Cat and her brother Mick all the ability to share the dreams of others. It can be heart wrenching but it also has the ability to give them clues to investigate.

When Mick's studio is burnt down, his friend and assistant Donnie happened to be asleep there. Now Grace and Cat are trying to find out just why someone would burn down the studio. Did Donnie have someone looking to kill him or was his death accidental? They are out to clear Mick's name but he isn't being cooperative.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a mystery but it is also a story about family and how we interact with them. Grace and her brother haven't been close for years. Seeing them interact and become close again is a true treasure.

I think that my readers who enjoy mysteries with a touch of the 'other' will love this book. I plan on going back and picking up the first book myself.

*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.

I'm sorry, for multiple reasons, this book just didn't connect for me. I wasn't able to finish it. I'm not going to post on Goodreads, the other reviews are so positive, I don't really want mine to stand out that way. I had trouble with the dream sequences. I felt they were disjointed and detracted from the story rather than added to it. I usually enjoy mysteries with psychic twists but this one missed for me.

The second book in the Dreamslipper series is a real whodunit. The story takes you through the world of fine art, with arson, murder, child porn and old hatreds to keep things lively. The idea of penetrating other people's dreams is very imaginative, and kicks the investigation along as clues are derived from many dreams. The good guys and bad guys are shown in many dimensions, so it is not easy to determine who to like or trust. Many storylines come into play, leading to a number of both satisfying and unsatisfying results. This is definitely a book that will challenge you to think.

Framed and burning by Lisa Brunette is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
What if you could ‘slip’ into the dreams of a killer? This family of PIs can. They use their psychic dream ability to solve crimes, and that isn’t easy. Especially when one of their own looks guilty.
Fantastic read with brilliant characters. Full of twists and plots. Highly recommended. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
