I loved this fast paced cozy mystery set in the south. Cherry is a fun and sassy character. This story was fast paced and I loved the characters.

I happened to read Book 6 of the series because I opted for this on NetGalley and didn't realize it. For some reason, I thought this was Book 1 in the series.

Anyhow, this was actually a nice mystery. What complicated this was Cherry's personal life. That completely overshadowed the mystery plot. And towards the end, things started happening so fast and there wasn't enough explanation for anything, including the final murderer, there just wasn't enough time. It felt rushed and it just messed up the whole book for me, I'm sorry.

Cherry seems to be such a nice character, but it was a mistake to read Book 6 without reading the first 5 books. In some books, the author does a great job of making sure the reader doesn't find out the difference, but here, I felt a huge amount of information that I didn't have because I hadn't read the earlier books in the series.

Cherry Tucker is an artist who is drawn into murder investigations more times than is healthy for her. In this story, Cherry is hanging out at Halo House – a home for the elderly. This is not just any seniors home, it is one that costs a lot to rent/buy your own apartment. Cherry has a part time job teaching art to the seniors who make their home there.

Cherry is pulled into another case when she is asked to be a witness to the signing of a will. Since no one knows what the will contains, it becomes the basis for everything that follows.

There is both murder and mayhem and Cherry is up to her neck in both. Even though she is warned repeatedly to stay out, she can't help herself. She has to try to solve the crimes, sort out her relationships and get everyone home safe and sound. Well, the last part might be a tad too much to ask in a murder mystery novel.

I laughed quite a bit and shook my head at Cherry's stubborn behavior. It was a fun ride of a read and I look forward to more in the series in the future.

I was provided a digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley.

First you need too read this series from book one, because if you don't you 'll miss something. This is a very interesting hilarious series with well develop characters and story-lines and whodunit that keeps you guessing. Cherry is a feisty, life gives me lemons I'll make lemonade and sweet tea kinda of southern gal, who you will fall in love with.

The sixth book in the Cherry Tucker Mystery series is packed with quirky elderly characters and humor, with a murder mystery to top it all off. The author has done a fine job of just the right combination of each to keep the story moving with the discovery of the "who do it" pitch perfect to end a funny, engaging story. I look forward to more stories involving Cherry Tucker, each one has been entertaining to say the least.

This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

This was the first book I read in the Cherry Tucker Mystery series, and even though there was a lot going on that started in the previous books, I didn’t feel lost at all—the author does a great job of telling the current story and new mystery for Cherry to solve while slowly letting you know what happened before.

My favorite thing about the story was Cherry herself because, man, it’s like there’s nothing she cannot do, she’s smart, she’s bold, she’s feisty, she’s unstoppable, plus her heart is always in the right place. In this particular case she will stop at nothing to solve the murder of an elderly and very rich lady she met once and asked her for help. There’s a large fortune to be inherited and quite a few questionable, seriously shady, even dangerous family members at play, still Cherry will not be intimidated.

Other thing that I enjoyed was the romance, which is also the reason I immediately added all the Cherry Tucker books to my to-buy-soon list. I need to know all the details of this relationship with the very handsome and solemn Deputy Luke Harper, who keeps begging her to stop putting herself in danger, please.

Recommended for cozy mystery fans and alikes.

(I received an e-galley from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to Henery Press!)

Super fun read that had me guessing until the end. Just when you have an idea who the criminal is, another twist is added into the mix. Once I started reading the book, I didn’t want to stop because I had to know who was guilty! A light suspense plot with some romance swirled in made this a delightful weekend read.

Cherry Tucker is back in Larissa Reinhart’s latest book A Composition in Murder. Hijack in Abstract was my favorite Cherry Tucker book. This time, Cherry is hanging out at Halo House, a premier senior community. She is taking art classes and best buds with Ada and Fred, a young at heart couple.
Meemaw’s Tea made millions selling sweet tea and its founder, a formidable 90 something dynamo lives at Halo House. She’s grieving over the death of her daughter and heir when she herself is found murdered. And Cherry is involved. Heavily!

Cherry tries to ‘help’ the police and the family of the victim, questioning or harassing people and finding clues wherever she goes.

On the home front, things are pretty tense for Cherry. Her affair with Deputy Luke has her at odds with her family. Her brother is rotting in jail, and without a decent lawyer. Her Uncle Will, the sheriff, has warned her not to trip up. Todd, the live in ex is acting crazy, colluding with the enemy. What’s a girl to do?

The violence escalates as Cherry ruffles many feathers. Like the previous book, this book is pretty granular, focused more on the crime itself. There is not much background info. A brief visit with Pearl is the only family flavor. There’s no siblings, no grandpa, and no Max.

The crime when it is solved may not be what you imagined. Get your copy of A Composition in Murder and get ready to be baffled with multiple story lines in this juicy mystery.
