ARC from Netgalley.
This issue is amazing! Really great start to the DC Rebirth line, and hopefully continuing after this to offer the best the modern DC and comics in general have to offer.

A solid trade that any fan of DC Comics can pick up and enjoy. Rebirth continues to be just that for DC and a breath of fresh air for the superhero genre.

So, not having a giant emotional attachment to either pre-Flashpoint DC or Watchmen, I was unsure how I would feel about this comic. That said I definitely enjoyed it more than the last "event" I read (if you can even classify Convergence as that -- talk about garbage fires). And for as few pre-New 52 comics as I've read, I definitely prefer the Wally West version of Flash to the newer version of Barry/Flash. I'm also looking forward to connections and relationships being reforged. Not entirely sure what volume to read next though. Guess I better look it up..... *sighs*

This is a most peculiar way to launch a whole, er, relaunch, in that at times it's much more of a fan-friendly parade of cameos and glimpses of characters, as opposed to the usual hard-hitting, all-encompassing drama we'd normally expect. And you have to be more than a passing fan – there were people here I didn't know anything about. Still, it makes for a more subdued and thoughtful reboot, so one can only hope that everything that follows has some of those qualities, as well as the usual thump-em-up action. It's nice to have a title that's premise and promise, and not something that also fails to deliver at such a key moment.
