I've read a number of different approaches to nonfiction. Some is highly informative, others highly entertaining. THis is one of the former. It's quite clearly structured: Janeczko introduces a concept with a brief overview and follows it with several examples throughout history. the information is clear and concise. And rather dry. There is little to be had in the way of entertainment or engagement here. I could see using this in a research project but certainly not for a pleasure read.
