This book starts right from the first chapter and keeps on going. I love how the case is woven in between Eve and Roarke's personal lives. I've read all the In Death books but my personal favorites are the ones where you don't know the killer so you try to figure it out while reading. This is one of those and I loved it!

Who doesn't love a visit with Eve Dallas and Roarke? This is book 44 of the In Death series by J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts). It's such a good, long-running police procedural with mystery and romance. I enjoy every new title.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a digital copy. All opinions are my own.

As always, a good read.

I adore our characters - especially our bitey cop.

The payoff to everything was incredibly satisfying.

Despite the serious crime here, it's a palate cleanser of a novel.

This is the first time I have read anything by J. D. Robb and I really liked the book. Robb writes wonderful characters and pulls the reader into the story using their inmost thoughts and lives. The story moves along at a good pace and keeps the reader's interest; it never bogs down. I have gone back and picked up the first book in the series just to get the full back story of Eve and Roarke.

J D Robb has a great use of strong female characters, I love all the relationships Eve has that she thinks she doesn't need or want and how they add to her life and also to the storyline. The way she works tirelessly for victims and potential victims until the end makes you root for her

I haven't read anything from this author before, so I went in knowing absolutely nothing. I had no idea it was so far into such a long series. It was really good, I enjoyed it. Fast-paced, smart, and a nice blend of violence, murder, and suspense.

How did I not know there were 43 books that came before Echoes in Death? And how did I know that JD Robb is the author of tons of other books I've loved (though under a different name!) Promptly adds to the rest of the series to my cart for summer reading :)

I picked this up as part of a special series to preview. While I had read some of the other in death books by JD Robb, I wasn't familiar with this one. Some of them I like, others not so much. This one was actually pretty good. It's a good mystery read if you are looking for something to pass the time like while traveling.

I can't believe I haven't read a J.D. Robb book until now. Though this is the 44th book in the series ( the Eve Dallas), it has me already ordering up the first 43 books in the series.

Echoes in Death is suspenseful when Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband encounter a naked women as they are driving home. This is full of detailed police work. I couldn't put this down and kept going to figure out how things were going to end. This is not the most recent book in the series, but it won't be my last read of this author.

Thank you for the copy to NetGalley.

This was an interesting premise and captures the readers attention from the get go. There are intriguing clues and although the subject matter was intense it was an easy read

Roarke and Eve are dressed up and on the way home from a gala. A naked woman dashes in front of there car. And that is the opening scene of this book. Eve Dallas is on the job immediately. Why would a woman be outside naked in the winter weather? Turns out the victim is a wealthy woman escaping a home break in. This is the first wealthy couple to be targeted. Each break in is more violent. Who is the person behind this? What do the couples have in common? This was a good page turner mystery.

You can’t go wrong with a book written by J. D. Robb. Book 44 in the Eve Dallas series, Echoes in Death is a chilling thriller of a murder mystery involving NY Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke. A case that Eve comes upon by chance.

I have read many books by this author using another name but not any of the J. D. Robb books. Now I am wondering why not. The characterization is dead on, with such an insightfulness as well as likability of Eve Dallas. Supporting characters that provide humor and a murder case to hold your interest right up until the end. Now it is just forty something books to catch up on reading.

This is one of those books you didn't know you needed to read until you read it and it left me WOW, I loved the story of Lt. Eve Dallas, see I have to catch up on the other 40+ books but it matters, if they are all as good as this one you will have me reading them all.

The theme of a serial killer had me on the edge of my seat as I read each scene more brutal than the other, how our lieutenant had her clues, how the others in the police force did too, every act, every scene, EVERYTHING was spectacular to me, here I went without making theories because you don't get them from the beginning and I loved it, I felt like I was watching an episode of Criminal Minds and that was spectacular to me. The ending was everything I didn't expect and I loved it.

The story grabbed me from the first chapter and will undoubtedly be one of my favorites of the year. Now I'm going to start buying the books in this series one at a time to get it started the way it should be.

This book is, of course, by one of the absolute best authors, and thus very entertaining. A good plot, excellent characters and storytelling, and doses of sex and humor. I don't get why it's set in the future, but I don't care.

This is my first J.D. Robb novel. I know. Where have I been?

This is a well written book. I was surprised to find that it is written in the future. The references are not overly done. Just subtle clues here and there to let the reader know that it is not 2025 anymore.

The protagonist is a police lieutenant in New York (homicide, of course), who is married to a very wealthy man. Their relationship is easy and they communicate well. I appreciate that in my novels.

A badly injured woman stumbles into the pathway of the couple’s car. They rush her to the hospital and based on her information, rush to her home to inform her husband. They find a scene of destruction - and her husband is viciously murdered.

So begins our adventure.

I enjoyed my introduction to Lt. Eve and look forward to reading more of her novels. The characters are likable and the book is very well written. The descriptions are crisp and lack the corniness you see in some crime/mystery dramas.

I want to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for forwarding to me a copy of this book so that I may read and enjoy it. The opinions in this review are solely my own.

My first journey into the “in Death” series and J. D. Robb, Thankfully WikiFan was available to fill in the numerous backstories that come with reading a book in the 40’s of the series.

I thought there would be more SciFi but honestly glad it was futuristic just enough to add color but not overtake the story. Good police procedural with a complex storyline. Likable characters that want you to read more in the series to see where their lives and careers take them.

Classic Eve Dallas police thriller. The story begins quickly as Eve and her husband Roarke are driving home. A naked woman, who has been brutally attacked, stumbles in front of her car. Eve get her to the hospital and learns that she is the wife of an orthopedic surgeon. They find him dead in the couple's apartment. Eve and her talented team are on the case.

I’m not sure why this novel, #44 of the In Death series from 2017, was available on NetGalley but I was happy to get it. I have read the most recent of these brilliant police procedurals but have not gone back through the series. I was gripped from the beginning. I love the diligent police work and interviews. I love the little touches of futurism as the series is set in the 2060s. And I always anticipate the final interview by Eve of the suspect. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see where the story would go. An added bonus to the book is the relationship Eve has with Roarke who is her constant support.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the digital copy and I am leaving an honest review.

Continuing the In Death series with another well-crafted addition, Robb's talent shines. The futuristic crime series remains one of the best, on or off-planet!

Immersive..
The forty fourth entry into the Eve Dallas series of thrillers and a shocking case with a disturbing behaviour pattern gives Eve much cause for consternation. She soon finds herself racing against the clock to stop a brutal assailant. Another fast moving and lively outing with an exceptionally well drawn cast populating a pacy and compelling plot. Immersive reading.

It’s been awhile since I have read an Eve Dallas book, but this was just as good as I remembered them to be, maybe better! Dallas is once again on the case of a murder, these hit close to home for her. With her yummy hubby Roarke can they stop the Rape and torture of young women and their spouses.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review
