I've struggled through the first four in the Charley Davidson series, but I'm now raising the white flag of surrender. There must be something to these books, as there are a staggering number of positive reviews. Readers seem to be lapping these stories up like a cat to cream, so I don't blame the author for continuing to crank them out. However- I am done.

I'm done with Charley being stupidly gaga over Reyes. She loses her damn mind (and all her common sense) the second he looks her way. She has a high enough opinion of herself that I don't get why she'd allow herself to be treated the way he carries on. He says he loves her, but puts her in danger. Sure, he saves her, but what's a guy to do? Maybe not use his girlfriend as bait in the first place?

Their relationship seems immature, self-serving on both sides, and doomed to implode. Maybe this is the author's intention, watching them grow into a healthy relationship as the series moves along, but I'm not going to stick around for any more of the nonsense.

I love this series as a whole. Daryna Jones has perfected her storytelling to where all parts flow together flawlessly. Would recommend!

Through 11 books Charley Davidson series just gets better and better. Charley and Reyes have been through a lot of difficult times. They have had to overcome a number of obstacles to be together. Even though their relationship is strong, they still encounter road blocks long the way. Charley is busy trying to hunt down rogue gods and deal with them before Michael comes calling, but now something from Reyes' past is turning up to cause problems.

Shaun has come to ask Charley for her help. He claims he is Reyes' brother from his time with the Fosters. The Fosters are the ones who kidnapped Reyes and gave him to the monster that raised him. Shaun thinks there is something off with the Fosters and that he was kidnapped like Reyes from his real parents. He would like Charley to look into it. Reyes is not happy with her taking the case and tells her she must drop it. Charley is determined to find out what is going on with the Fosters and learn more about Reyes' history.

Jones is the best at weaving answers to questions from different books into her storyline so they are answered naturally and along the series. I find that every new book has an answer that I have been wondering about throughout the series. You always get an aha moment in every book.

This book included the sarcastic wit that Charley is known for and all the favorite supporting cast helps to move this series forward. For those that have been reading the series, this is another great addition. For those that are new to the series, this is not the book to start in and you should really start with book 1 "First Grave on the Right." This is one of my favorite series out there.

In this episode of Charley Does Death, Charley reverts back to her character from books 1-10 and repeatedly does the same plan over and over again expecting a different result. Spoiler: it doesn’t change anything!

So after we relearn the definition of Insanity over and over (see above for repetition of over and over) Charley still doesn’t know anything about her past and her powers and you will feel like you were swimming in mucky waters with a blindfold the entire dead. Senseless deaths occur, and then Gods are killed super easily, even though the buildup created made it seem like it was going to be astonishing and entertaining as a bear climbing through your kitchen window. Hint: it was not and it did not.

Ugh upwards and onwards to the second to last blight in the Reaper series where I ponder why. All of the questions to why.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Trouble is basically Charley's middle name. Every time she thinks she and the ones she loves are out of danger, she is proven wrong. Charley needs to learn more about herself as a god, and who better to help her than her hubby, Reyes? If you count throwing her off a building help, then yeah, he's perfect for the job.

When Charley learns her niece, Amber, is being threatened, she's on the case. She just has to convince a certain demon, Osh, to go undercover at Amber's school. Finding out who is after Amber might be the easiest assignment Charley has had in a while, but still Charley is forced to learn new things about herself and the enemies who are after her daughter.

I have to agree with other readers that the CHARLEY DAVIDSON series, while enjoyable, is dragging on a little too long. I realize that danger seems to follow Charley wherever she goes, but ELEVENTH GRAVE IN MOONLIGHT seemed to be a lot of repetitiveness. On a side note, Charley does get more in touch with her god side and I'll never say that author Darynda Jones doesn't know how to land a cliffhanger, as pretty much every book has a really solid one. The cliffhangers are mostly the reason I keep reading this series. Don't get me wrong, I like Charley and her rag-tag group, but some of her actions are just so childish. I feel that she should have matured a little more by now. I hope the next addition to the CHARLEY DAVIDSON series will be a step up from this one. I give ELEVENTH GRAVE IN MOONLIGHT a 3.5 star rating.

Another good addition to the series, You can kind of start anywhere in this series as the author gives you a lot of recap of previous books, but the overall story arc is best enjoyed by reading them all.

Yet another amazing story to add to the series. Sooooo much has changed from the first book until now. Just amazing!! I just love the characters and the world that has been created. The character development and relationship buildings have been great throughout. This is a 'must read' for sure!!!

Well, I'm glad we learned a few more things about the characters and it was interesting about the storyline of Ambers stalker. I did feel some parts of this book was slow but of course the last 10% is a doozy.

What an ending to this book!!!!! I swear, I can't get enough of this series and it keeps me wanting more. I absolutely love the characters in this story because it's hard to hate them; especially the son of Satan. Reyes never disappoints and him and Charley couldn't be more perfect for each other in the best and worst ways possible. I get more than a few laughs while reading this story and when it comes to steamy parts it does not disappoint. There's mystery, suspense, laughs and so much more in this series. I can't wait to start the next book.

Good gravy, Charley knows how to get herself into some serious pickles.Heck, sometimes I think she climbs into the jar and screws the lid shut behind her.

Not that it's always her fault, mind you, but she does have a disarming ability to create focused chaos at unexpected times.

I mean, there's the whole attempting world domination thing (possibly she's joking, but maybe not) and the let's kill the one god on this plane (mayyyyybe she's not really going to do it, but THEN AGAIN!) and learning to control her godly powers (which is actually a good thing with just a teeny bit of chaos thrown in because godly powers and all that) and...you know, the list could probably go on. Charley's special like that.

Beyond all that, Reyes and Charley are still sort of keeping secrets. Actually, Reyes wasn't so much keeping a secret as trying to dissuade Charley from doing something without giving her any concrete reasons as to why he wanted her to stop that thing. Which is sort of like a secret, I guess. Anywho. This leads to some friction. Namely, a lot of smoldering glances from Mr. Farrow himself. Which is actually not a bad thing AT ALL.

That said, THINGS HAPPEN. THINGS. OMG! THINGS. Book 12 is waiting for me. I must away.

Charlie and Reyes adventures just keep going on and going on the story is still engaging and great the cover is bomb and I'm still binging onto book 12

This series continues with this 11th book. I am still in love with the characters and the story line but how long can this series go on. I still have a lot of questions and the author is now adding cliffhanging endings to the books. Would love to see everything get a happy ending

Book source ~ NetGalley (for a tour)

This is a re-read for me for the tour and I really can’t think of anything to add or change to my original review, so I’m just going to copy and paste that here. I will say, even though I read this one not too long ago, it in no way detracted from my enjoyment at revisiting it again so soon. This is the kind of series that I can see myself reading over and over again and never getting tired of it. Ever. If you haven’t started this series then I highly suggest you get crackin’. Because, seriously? You don’t know what you’re missing.

Charley Davidson, grim reaper, PI, and goddess, is back to work. Balancing cases, goddess-type stuff, and helping the dead is not easy work, but Charley soldiers on because she needs to do her thing so her daughter can do her thing when the time comes. And amongst all the supernatural stuff, Charley needs to keep her uncle alive and out of hell and take care of Amber’s problem. But she can handle it, right? Right?

When I started this book, I panicked because I felt a sense of dissatisfaction at the direction the series was headed. All of this god and goddess stuff and thousands of dimensions makes my head hurt and I was afraid I’d end up falling into a deep pit of dontcare-itis by the end. However, for the most part, this book has Charley going about her usual business with the goddess stuff, while not taking a total back seat, at least muted a bit. The pre-ending seemed a bit rushed, but omfg, that for realz ending?! Holy shit! Lots of mystery, humor and hotness as per usual and I’m happy to claim I stayed well away from that nasty mid-series pit. I am very much looking forward to the next book and see how Charley fixes the mess she and Reyes just made. In the words of George Takei: “Oh, MY!”

Once again, Darynda Jones knocked it out of the park. The best thing about the Charley Davidson series? Well, other than the snark anyway. I love that Ms. Jones isn't afraid to shake things up. In Eleventh Grave in Moonlight, Charley is working on a case that involves the people that kidnapped Reyes when he was a baby. These people are not only insane, they're super religious and creepy AF.

On top of working a case that is crazy pants, Charley also has to find out what's going on with her uncle, who is stalking a teenage girl, and how to dematerialize. Things are never calm in Charley's world, but Eleventh Grave took it up a notch and that ending? Holy cliffhanger from hell, Batman!!

I absolutely adore this series.
Full of snark, steam and characters that you hate to say goodbye to when the book is done

This was another amazing book from Darynda Jones. Charley has so much going on that she practically meets herself coming and going.

I think there were so many answers in this book that it deserves a couple of reads to fully understand how deep the nuances and conspiracies work.
