(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

A typical day in the life of Charley Davidson involves cheating husbands, errant wives, missing people, philandering business owners, and, oh yeah...demons, hell hounds, evil gods, and dead people. Lots and lots of dead people. As a part time Private Investigator and full-time Grim Reaper, Charley has to balance the good, the bad, the undead, and those who want her dead.
Now, Charley is learning to make peace with the fact that she is a goddess with all kinds of power and that her own daughter has been born to save the world from total destruction. But the forces of hell are determined to see Charley banished forever to the darkest corners of another dimension. With the son of Satan himself as her husband and world-rocking lover, will Charley be able to defeat the ultimate evil and find a way to have her happily ever after after all?

*3.5 stars*

Better than the previous book, I still have to say that the plots are getting thinner and thinner and it feels like that author has decided that the best way to keep people interested is to give them some kind of amazing, incredible, over-the-top CLIFFHANGER ending...just so they will move onto the next one. I get it, guaranteeing sales is all well and good but, for the casual reader, it is infuriating and makes me want to throw the book at the wall in frustration.

What was good about this one? Charley Does College. Well she does a business course at college. Which was cool for me. I enjoyed the different aspect to her personality. I also enjoyed the introduction with the psychiatrist - Charley's personality (as we normally know it) was on full show and, for a change, wasn't trite and boring. There seemed to be a little more of the investigating in this book - whether that was because it tied directly to Reyes that it got more air-time, I don't know. Maybe it was so Charley could just tell us again (and again and again...) just how HOT he is... (ugggghhhh!)

Overall, I am sticking with it. This was an improvement on the last two books - hopefully the next will improve a little more as well.

Charley Davidson is a beloved series. It was one of the first I committed to when I started reading PNR. I am gearing myself up for the final book, number thirteen. I waited an entire year to read this book so that I could devour it and number twelve consecutively. In hindsight, I would not recommend this strategy. What I did not consider about my year-long wait is that it is easy to forget details. There are a lot of characters introduced by the time you reach book eleven, important characters that have an impact on the final storyline, and I struggled a bit to remember the who they were and what context they belong in the story.

There is a lot going on in this book. It is understandable given more time is dedicated to the larger story arc that is about to come to a conclusion. Charley is involved in multiple investigations and her family dynamic is also complex. We make a huge discovery about the people, the Fosters, who kidnapped Reyes and sold him to the evil Earl. Shawn Foster, the adopted son hires Charley to investigate his parents and the bogus adoption agency. There is something wrong with Amber in which Charley must intervene. Furthermore, Uncle Bob is acting very strangely, which is related to his odd behavior from before and she continues to have him under surveillance for his protection. Moreover, Archangels are dogging Charley and she is still on the lookout for the rogue god, Eidolon. Whew, like I said, a lot going on here.

The sheer number of storylines is a little distracting. Each situation reaches a conclusion but I am waiting for the element that ties all the storylines together. This is a bridge book that asks more questions than gives answers. I trust that this is all in preparation for the final two books. The concluding chapter is a doozy of a cliffhanger. So, despite my previous concerns, I AM glad I waited to have book twelve in hand before starting eleven. My suggestion is to read book nine – thirteen consecutively for continuity.

Charley still misses her daughter “Beep” more than anything in the world but the only way to keep her safe is to keep her hidden. As the grim reeper, Charley has special abilities and some she even knows how to use but as a god she has even more abilities that she doesn’t have a clue on how to use.

As Charley investigates the Foster’s, the people who originally abducted Reyes, she finds connections to more abductions and not to mention some really weird things. Uncle Bob has been acting really out of character and the team continues to try to guard him and protect him from going to hell.

Charley is one of the funniest characters of any book series I read and I always look forward to her quirky humor. The headings at the beginning of each chapter, which include slogans, bumper stickers, t-shirt headings were back to be fabulous in this book. Hold on to your seats because a big shock will be revealed in this one. Can’t wait until the next one!

This series will never FAIL to entertain!! I am so glad that I listened to my dear friend when she recommended this series.

First line: I lay on a psychiatrist’s couch, a couch I’d named Alexander Skarsgard the moment my gaze landed on its buttery curves and wide back, and wondered if I should tell Dr. Mayfield about the dead kid scurrying across her ceiling.

Summary: Book 11 in the Charley Davidson series. Charley finds herself, as you see above, meeting with a psychiatrist. This in itself is unusual, because Charley, the grim reaper, and oh, so much more, rarely asks for help from anyone. The powers of hell are still after her and her daughter, Beep, is still in hiding, because she has been born to save the world. Lots of angels start showing up and the things Charley has learned about who she truly is, and the powers that go along with that make for more interesting moments and lots of Charley, Cookie and Reyes craziness.

Highlights: Charley’s explorations of her abilities and her penchant for getting into trouble are not diminished in this book. I love a book that can make me laugh out loud and Darynda Jones laces enough humor through her books that they don’t become dark and gloomy, despite the subject matter that could get them there. All your favorite characters are present in this book, if you’ve stuck with the series to this point. I’ve heard that Jones plans to finish this series with book 13, and it will be interesting to see how she ties things up. This book makes it apparent that we are coming to a close sooner rather than later.

Lowlights (or what could have been better): Can I please get more information about and see Beep?! She’s just mentioned in passing in this book as people are watching and protecting her.

FYI: If you read the series, you’ll know that there is language and sex. If you haven’t, please don’t start with book 11. And be aware that there is language and sex.

This series continues to bring entertainment! Charley is continuing to grow and mature, but she never loses her sense of humor. I also always love not only the overarching plot but the small cases as well that end at the end of each book. Though I will say I am not a fan of that cliffhanger!

Eleventh Grave in the Moonlight by Darynda Jones an explosive Five-star read. This is the eleventh book in the Charley Davidson series (as the title suggests), and the series just keeps getting better and better. Charley Davidson seemed to be settling into life, well sort of, beep is safe with family and the world isn’t ending just yet, but as always things never stay settled for long, and let’s face it she would be driven crazy with boredom if life was quiet, she needs the craziness as much as she needs coffee!!
Charley Davidson wears many hats, she’s a part time private investigator, and is also the Grim reaper, a wife and mother, and also a god, many, many hats make crazy, crazy lady. This means that she deals with many different things in her day to day life, cheating husbands, missing people, dead people, crazy stalkers and the occasional errant god and the occasional Angel. This means that as you read the book you get swept up in the crazy and it makes a hell of a read!! emphasis on the Hell!! The only things keeping Charley sane are the men in her life, her hotter than Hell husband Reyes Alexander Farrow who happens to be the son of Satan, A teenager with a crush on her Angel, who is also happens a ghost who helps her investigate some times, and her uncle Bob who she affectionately calls Ubie who is acting weird all of a sudden, and a Demon called Osh who steps up to the plate when the need arises. As well as the most important/needed man Jose Cuervo.
Cookie and Amber also pop up as well as some old favourites like Strawberry shortcake, and as always keep the entertainment value high, without giving any spoilers away all I can say is this book is amazing, it catch’s us up on some storylines, and explains some un-answered questions from previous books and creates a whole host more questions.
I can’t believe how quick I read this book, the only down side to reading it so quick is that now I have to wait ages until book twelve, it can’t come quick enough!!

Another great installment in this series.... I love dropping in on Charley and company for some detective work & crime solving, supernatural power plays, and of course her fun sarcastic and kooky sense of humor. It's always a great adventure ride and this one was more suspenseful than some and that ending was to die for...

OH MY GOD!!!!
What is this cliffhanger?!

Okay, so I'm a little late getting back to this party. I was also nervous that I wouldn't like the series anymore or that it would feel flat now 11 books in.
I was wrong.

Well, okay, I was kinda right. Reyes does his whole lean-against-doorways thing and tells Charley not to do her job, as per usual. Also, because we know the characters so well by this point, there isn't much to evolve-- in terms of side characters. I miss Charley and Cookie interactions, but in a way... it is how life goes. They are both super busy with their ways of saving people.

We did get more information on the prophecy and Charley's...powers. There is seriously so much to this book and I'm amazed at how I still laugh at it, but am totally hooked.
I blew through this book. I wouldn't have moved from my reading spot if I didn't need to pee or make food.

Once again that stupid ass cliffhanger!! I am in such need for the next book. At the same time, I could totally go for Beep's story now too. I am a huge sucker for Osh. Quentin and Amber? I ship it hard. I need the next generation's story too and this series is really setting that series up. We just need to know all about Charley and all that jazz.

So, 11 books in and I'm still in love with this series. If you like PNR or UF with lots of silly humor and badass villains, this is definitely a story you should be checking out.

It was a great read.

I have read every book in this series, somehow this time it seems that the story or the plot is being stretched too much.

That being said, I will definitely read the next book. Because I still want to know how it ends.

So this is my second book in Charley Davidson's series and I still have not found time to read the previous books, but no problem, this book is wonderful stand alone book, with normal hints to previous books.

So in this eleventh book, Charley is back in her home town, she has her human life memories back, in tenth book she found out she is partly divine, but she does not remember all she did while she was goddess and she threatened Jehovah to take over the world from him. Well, now she decided to start with business studies, so when she will (if she will) take over the world, she will know how to run it. And she also continues her private investigator job and helps souls to move on, if they have stuck in this world.

So besides learning how to run the world, she also has case of investigating an adopting couple and the agency they used for adoption/run themselves. And her best friends daughter is acting strange and her uncle is acting strange ... and Reyes is teaching her how to control her teleportation abilities, so she will not end up in Scotland or in another galaxy every time she gets really mad.

At the end an extreme religious sect is neutralized, another rivaling god is destroyed (unfortunately not before he took some innocent lives with him), and the ending is such a steep cliff that the readers will hang there impatiently, waiting for the next book.

Good read and I still think I need to find time to read all the books. :)

I had not read this series before Netgalley granted me an ARC and gosh- have I been missing a good one! I really enjoyed this. The characters, especially, of course Charley, are fun and oddly enough (given the premise) totally believable. I'm amazed I haven't read Jones before but now I'm not only going to look for her future books but also go back and read how we got to this place. Try this one even if it's new to you.

What another great Charley book! I was thrilled to turn each page. Reyes, UB...everyone...awesome! And I can't wait to learn more about Beep!

Charley Davidson and her sexy husband Reyes are back in this awesome series! She is a one-of-a-kind protagonist who gets easily side-tracked and is funny as hell. I love the secondary characters as well and can't get enough of this incredible story. This is an original series that I highly recommend for paranormal fans.

This was my first soiree into the Charley Davidson series of books and I have to say it was a lot of fun. How could you not love Charley? Aside from being a kick ass lead who's obsessed with coffee, has a son of Satan as a husband, and nicknames her furniture, she essentially has no filter to her dialogue, but yet has her heart of gold moments. She's a reaper, but still has her human moments. The author does a really good job of expressing her many layers, whether it's her inner dialogue making me laugh or her heart strings being pulled because of the consequences of her being a reaper. Supporting characters were really well written. I was really entertained by the relationship between Charley and Reyes. The plot itself featured not only Charley's role as a reaper and recently discovered all powerful goddess, but as a PI looking into a stalker case that hits a little close to home. Overall, the pace was good, but there were moments where I felt the story dragged slightly. I'll definitely add the other books in the series on my To Read list.

The Charley Davidson series is one of my favorite must-read/must-listen to series available. I not only have to read the books as soon as they are released, but I have to listen to the audiobook as well. I honestly hear Lorelei King's voice in my head as I read the book, and don't feel as if my reading experience is complete until I've read and listened to the books.

I enjoyed Eleventh Grave in Moonlight. It seemed to start off slower than past books, but once it got going, it was pretty much non-stop action. We get to spend time with Charley, Reyes, and their entire crew. The humor is present as always and the sexy times with Reyes and Charley are as hot as ever. I really liked that while there were a few new issues to come to light, we also got answers for what was going on with Ubie. We also discovered new rules that Charley has to live by as a God, and learned why so many angels were following Charley and Reyes.

The case Charley works on is more personal than normal since it deals with the people who kidnapped Reyes. I wasn't sure where we were headed with The Diviners cult, but actually liked the part of the story way more than I anticipated. I usually want the focus to be so much on Charley, Reyes, and crew. I don't always love the PI portion of the story. I think because there was such a connection to Reyes and even BEP with this part of the story, I found myself pulled in so much more.

I will say the cliffhanger type ending is not my favorite type of ending. However, it definitely isn't the first time Ms. Jones has done this, so it didn't really shock me when it happened. The ending of Eleventh Grave in Moonlight has me eagerly awaiting The Trouble with Twelfth Grave's release in October.

Rating: 4 Stars (B)

Once again Charleys at it and you can't help but love her! I just cant get enough of Darynda Jones writing she is one of my all time favorites. I don't even mind the cliff hangers! Everyone do yourself a favor read this series it'll make you laugh so hard you pee your pants!

Charley just keeps getting better!

Darynda has managed to build a world that has so many avenues to explore. Just when I think she's managed to hit the end of a dead end alley in the storyline... there's another door for us to walk through. If you love paranormal/urban fantasy, and haven't started reading this series yet - YOU MUST DO IT NOW!

If I had to name just one thing that pulls me in, it would be the sarcasm - it constantly keeps me coming back for more in this series. Charley would be one of my BFFs if she existed in real life. While I never get into as many - or as dangerous - scrapes as Charley does we definitely have kindred outlooks on life.

Angels, demons, ghosts, bad husbands, loyal family - action, adventure, love, and mystery - this series has it all in spades!
