I love the idea of this book - the execution not so much.

These two aliens influenced a 1000 years of history and instead of fun its pretty boring and after their first few attempts: repetitive.

There are a few hints of a great book a la Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in there, but it never goes further.

This is a tedious book about two aliens who are supposed to be watching over Earth but through their misadventures cause most of world history. It reminds me of my university plant pathology textbook which opened with a retelling of human history through the action of plant disease. The US transcontinental railroad was caused by the Irish potato blight, for example. The plant path book was more interesting.

I received a review copy of "The Ballad Of Elva & Chester, Or: Mostly Their Fault" by Adrian Archangelo (WildBlue Press) through NetGalley.com.
