Life, life, life…
This story was a mix of real life struggles and heart happy romance. Carolina’s day included wrangling kids, managing a restaurant and juggling relationships. Her mom was the owner, and her boss, and with changes coming she was being a royal pain. Nothing like having your past thrown up at you every which way – and not much of it positive… Her plate was more than full but Nathan soon became a part of the struggles as well as the joys…
Nathan was intrigued by Carolina. As a person, as an in-law relative, as well as her impact on his current job. The scorching chemistry didn’t hurt either. Why would both of them beg, borrow and steal time – ducking relatives and their questions – to spend it together? Was it worth the effort? The added stress? The familial tension? Yes, yes it was….
I loved the characters and the circumstances they found themselves in. Nothing was an easy fix but with heart and hope they made things happen. The tears, the angst, those stolen moments were all on the line and I loved the effort both put in to find a way. And they had me with them through it all until…
That ending. Did I like it? No, I could have cried in my disappointment. It was a happy one, don’t get me wrong, but the abrupt about face and wrapping up of events left me with such a cheated feeling.
All the good that came before it, including an engaging plot and very likable characters, meant this was overall a good read and I’ll be looking for more from this author.

I did not finish this book. While I appreciate the offer to have the novel., I have stopped reading any romance novels that stray more into erotica.

This books seemed promising from the blurb. The book however ended up not being as great as I hoped it would be. There were some errors here and there that bothered me such as the age of the characters. In the blurb the main characters were 24 and 26. If that were the case then Carolina had her first child at 14 but in the text we find out that she actually had her first child at 18. The blurb should match the inside text. Next the characters were to back and forth with themselves. I liked Nathan but he seemed to be so obsessed with work to the point that he probably need mental help. I tried to like Carolina but she came across as incredibly uptight. Not my type of heroine. With that being said, I would be willing to give this author another shot.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I always enjoy Leslie North's books. Carolina and Nathan's story is certainly an emotional one.
Carolina has 3 kids to 3 different men and 3 failed marriages, trying to run her mother's restaurant. Nathan is an environmental architect trying to fit into his family's business. Together, they try to forge a path for themselves.
I felt like Carolina was a bit of a doormat for her mother. Her mother just kept dumping on her and I couldn't understand why she wouldn't stick up for herself.
Nathan was always being thrown under the bus as well. He had a great design but his brothers never supported him. They were only concerned with the bottom line. Even when he was under a deadline and needed to work, Carolina wasn't understanding. He did something incredibly sweet for her and she threw it back in his face. I guess it wouldn't be a good book if he gave up, though, right?
I shed a few tears and smiled at the happy parts. I give it 4 stars.

The third book in the series has very nicely tied up all three of the brothers' stories, each unique and memorable. The story quickly grabbed my attention with Nathan's hurried moments and his dedication of wanting to be known for his memorable and sustainable architectural designs. What captured my heart, was his devotion and persistence in his pursuit of Carolina's love. Ms North has done a wonderful job of creating all the elements that made Nathan so very special...his devotion to both Carolina and her children, as well as her family. I'm sorry to have the series end, but am pleased with how the author ended it.
