This book is an excellent resource if you're interested in aromatherapy. The first section is some basics about aromatherapy and working with essential oils including a list of things you need. The next section includes very detailed info on a plethora of essential oils, their properties and how to work with them. The last section is recipes for using essential oils. I love this book and have purchased a physical copy for myself as I plan to use many of the recipes in the future.

There are so many great aromatherapy books that new ones should offer something particularly new or helpful. I really didn't feel that this one did that or that it was as good as many that are already out there. It's a perfectly fine book, but not one I would purchase over any on my shelves already or recommend to my readers.

One of the most wonderful books for someone learning about essential oils. It has an exquisite design. When picked up you don't want to leave it. It gives you in-depth knowledge of each oil. The recipes are wonderful.
The description of distilleries and farms of flowers shows how devoted is the author to her science. Indeed the title justifies the book. The book like every Hay House book is very well designed. Both author and publisher have done a great job.

Just ok for an aromatherapy book. Nothing that really stood out to me. I wasn’t impressed with the pictures or content.

This book gave a compressive guide to the essential oils and their functions. I was not too crazy about some of the recipes but I liked that it gave quite a bit of info on how to make some of your own oils as well as purchasing some.

This is the first book I've read on essential oils, and I found it to be very informative, yet easy to read. It was very educational for me, and I enjoyed learning about the essential oils. The book was interesting and useful. I really liked the fact that it had lots of recipes using the essential oils. I'm sure this is one I'll be referring to over and over again. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Aromatherapy is wonderful. And the recommendations in this book are wonderful. And dare I say, idiot proof (which is good for me.)

This book doesn't really do aromatherapy justice with the cutesy profiles of essential oils but I imagine the author is trying to reach a different audience. Unfortunately for me the profiles left a lot to be desired in an introduction to aromatherapy book.

This is a wonderful, comprehensive guide for beginners and professionals alike. It informs the reader of everything from distillation and safety issues regarding essential oils, to proper blending and application. It's an easy-to-read guide with profiles on each oil and provides recipes for each. As an accredited aromatherapist, I highly recommend this book as not only a beginner's guide, but also as a reference for those already established in practice.

A treasure trove of aromatherapy wisdom from a well-known person in the field. I had heard of Andrea and Aromahead before reading the book so was familiar with her blending method etc. However I still found lots that was new. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the oils as if they were people.

The oil history is here as well as the scientific information. This is very complex and perfect guide to Aromatherapy oils. Thank you for the advance reading copy which did not influence my review Cross posted to Amazon.

Finally, an aromatherapy book that actually explains how to use essential oils in a manner that an average reader can understand and repeat at home. I have searched high and low for anything that might help me and this book really does the job. And it has recipes galore, not just for body butters and lotions, but for inhalers, help for various aches and pains and additional beauty products. It is everything I've been looking for, complete with a great compendium of essential oils and how each one is useful. What a fabulous find!

My first book by Aromathreapist & Author Andrea Butje, The Heart of Aromatherapy: An Easy to Use Guide for Essential Oils is a simple, straightforward guide to using Essential Oils.

Aromatherapy is very dear to me. I have heard of Aromatherapy from the time I started using & learning Alternative Medicine. I have used Essential Oils for aroma and massage from time to time, just not therapeutically. But when I was stuck with Trigeminal Neuralgia I had a reality check and when nothing worked, I turned to Aromatherapy after I had an intuition to try it during praying. Now, five years later, I use Aromatherapy for dealing with TN, Skin Care and scores of other purposes.

When saw this book in Net Galley, I really wanted to read it ... I have read many books on this subject since I started using Essential Oils and even have a few that I refer to often, but wanted a book that has recipes that I can use daily, along with detailed overview of key essential oils. That's what I got with this book!

I loved Andrea's writing style and loved the Body Butter and few other recipes that I tried from this book ... I hope this book helps a lot of people out there like me ... and changes lives. If you are looking at a simplified and easy to understand book on Aromatherapy, with scores of daily use recipes, look no further!

The Heart of Aromatherapy provides a handy reference guide for essential oil users which contains usage guides, benefits, and safety precautions for 40 essential oils. While I heard of several of the oils, Ms. Butje also brings to the forefront some lesser known oils. What I appreciated most about the book was the inclusion of the recipes.
