This was a book that contained two novellas that are related to the author’s other novels. Because of that, I wasn’t sure if I’d like them. I’m not too big on novellas and I wasn’t sure if I would be missing something by not reading the books these stories were related to. However, they were both cute and enjoyable to read. I didn’t feel lost and read through them pretty quickly. I recommend.

A pretty good read! Looking forward to seeing what author Pamela Sherwood comes up with next.

I couldn't connect to the characters. Amy and Thomas were too unrelatable.

A Scandal in Newport was not what I was expecting, but it was enjoyable. In addition to the loving relationship between Amelia and Thomas, it was good to see the love between Amy and Relia. Relia was not an active person in the novella, but especially as a twin, she is frequently in Amy’s thoughts and heart.

Amy seems very intuitive of people around her. She is kind and makes friends easily, maybe a little guarded where some are concerned, but still willing to give everyone a chance. Thomas is truly a gentleman in his desire to wait until marriage. When Thomas seems to have ‘artist block,’ Amy recognizes it and encourages him to go back to New York with her father and brother to get vision back.

The underlying issue throughout this novella comes from three debutantes having been kidnapped while
Amy was away in England. She knows all of the young ladies and is close to one of them. Amy realizes fairly quickly that someone must have access to information about the girl’s lives in order to know when and where to abduct them.

While Thomas is in New York, Amy is the next to be abducted. He, her father and brother rush back to Newport to assist in her return. The kidnappers have picked up the wrong girl from both Amy and Thomas’s perspectives.

A Wedding in Cornwall is another pre-wedding novella of Sophie and Robin with a side relationship of Harry and his mistress May. May is a widow who is not interested in marriage again. Harry tries to convince her to attend his sister’s wedding. He needs to convince some of his family, too, since they are aware she is his mistress. His sister Sophie does not seem as reluctant and wants to try to get to know the May for Harry’s sake.

I will say it was not the ending I was expecting. Both of these novellas were good reading although I think I would have enjoyed them more had I read the prior book. I am not familiar with Pamela Sherwood’s work, but plan to go back and read her previous novels. Thank you Net Galley for this book in exchange for an honest review.
