But because Alex is already in hot water, he follows orders to keep the judge happy.

LOVED! Another winner by a very talented author. This novel introduces us to a new series that grabbed my from the very first page. A DC public relations firm is a front for a company that performs much more clandestine activities and employs Kita, who we meet while she is desperately trying to teach a woman self defense. She is abruptly pulled from that lesson to learn that she has to help protect a federal judge.

As a former CIA analyst, Kita thinks rules are only suggestions and not to be complied with. Her partner, US Marshall Alex lives his world structured entirely by rules. This makes for entertaining encounters and sparks that you have feel sizzling off the page.

The author has crafted a tightly woven mystery with just enough romance to be a great novel that fans of either genre will love. She is on my must read authors' list and should probably be on yours. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Kita Kim is a strong and rebellious woman working at ALIAS (Adams-Larsen Inc. and Associates)- a PR Agency on paper but mostly deals with getting innocent people into hiding. She has had enough important people in her life let her down that motivates her to help others find a new identity.

Alex Saunders is a deputy marshal for the US Marshals assigned to the case of Judge "Bobby" Adams, an old federal judge with a wandering eye when it comes to women. Alex lives and breathes rules and protocol. They are there for a reason. A good reason. He made the mistake of not following the rules once when he was younger and it has haunted him since.

Can a rebel and a Marshal work together for the protection of a federal judge long enough to find out who has been threatening him?

This book is simply marvelous! FINALLY a book has come along in my TBR pile that I can fly through in one day because it is next to impossible to put down. There are twists and turns with each chapter. When the action is not in the streets, it is in the sheets. A suspenseful novel with a passionate romance so steamy that my glasses were constantly foggy. This book was fast-paced. The main characters had depth and developed smoothly. There was girl power, romance, and strong friendship ties that tugged at my heart. I highly recommend this book for anyone who particularly enjoys romantic suspense novels. It was, in a word, thrilling.

For those who may be sensitive: There is violence, graphic sex scenes, foul language, and physical abuse in a domestically violent situation.

Please note: an electronic copy of this novel was generously provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a brand new series featuring Adams-Larsen Inc and Associates (ALIAS). On the top, ALIAS is billed as an exclusive PR firm ... but privately it's a relocation specialist agency. They don't exactly break the law, but skate on the edge of legality. Sort of a WItness Protection operation for your common everyday folks.

A federal judge has received death threats in the mail. Federal US Deputy Marshal Alex Saunders is given the responsibility of protection. However, the judge is insisting on back-up security from ALIAS. Alex is not happy at all, especially when the judge requests a woman.

Kita Kim, former CIA Analyst, agrees to go undercover as the judge's aide. Kita and Alex are throwing sparks off each other almost the moment they meet. However, this looks more like a love/hate relationship. Alex is a by-the-book, play-by-rules sort of man. Kita is a rule-breaker whenever necessary. The two of them disagree on everything....

almost everything. There is that crazy attraction that keeps growing. But will their 'wants' interfere with the 'need' of protecting the judge?

SInce the judge has wined and dined and bedded almost every woman in Washington, the number of suspects is considerable. Which of them has the most to gain with the judge's death?

This is a well-written Romantic Suspense. Looks like a very good start to a new series. Alex and Kita both have issues resulting from things that happened when they were very young. How they got past those issues to be together professionally and personally was handled believably.

Being a romantic expense, the reader has come to realize that there will most always be at least one very explicit intimate interlude. This book is no different.

I would like to thank the author and Netgalley for an advance copy of Stalked. All opinions expressed are my own.

I want to thank Netgalley, the author Lisa Hughey and the publisher for an ARC of this book for a honest review. This is a fast-paced romantic suspense thriller that has some awesome new characters who come to play at a new Agency that publicly states PR but underneath helps people in severe trouble move and start over. The firm employs past CIA,FBI and Marshals who now work together at ALIAS(Adams-Larson Inc and Associates). A Federal judge has been threatened, and even though he has Marshalls with him at all times,he also wants an employee from ALIAS for extra protection. Here we meet Kita, thrown into the case while still trying to ensure the safety of a woman and children ,with her after the husband murders the wife and no evidence is found. There are some steamy sex scenes ,it is a romantic suspense, but nothing takes away from the story, actually building it up. The plots are well discussed and we feel we are right beside the main character as she tries to take care of all problems. Nice to read the start of a new series and looking fprward to read more!!

WOW! This book is great and I am looking forward to more from this author. The first book to a new series and it did not disappoint. There is violence, graphic sex scenes, rough language, and physical abuse in this book so please be warned. I was pulled into this book with just the blurb & then when I read the first chapter I was really hooked. The writing was great and the story was complete. I loved it. If you are looking for a fast paced book to keep you on the edge of your seat then you don't want this book to get away.

For a quick read, this was full of action and suspense from the first chapter to the last. It was a bit rushed, but also to be expected in a shorter read. There was insta-lust/love for our MC's who struggled with their attraction to each other. An opposites attract story where both influenced the other to soften their rough edges and meet in the middle. This looks like it will be part of several standalone series. This particular storyline wrapped up but there is also a background story that hints at more to come. Great writing, interesting plot and I would like to read more from this series. This is my first Lisa Hughey book and I am impressed! Suspense, drama, and romance, what else could you want.

For this to be the first book of a series it does an excellent job building the series basis while still telling the current story. Kita Kim is tough yet sensitive and passionate about her job. Taking on a gig with US Marshall Alex Saunders to protect a presiding federal judge being threatened has Kita torn when she wants to focus on a woman and he nieces who need her help and protection.

Sexy, by the rules, Marshall Alex doesn't want Kita or her firm's help. He doesn't trust they will play by the rules when he is on probation already and he doesn't understand why a PR Firm is necessary in the situation. When Judge Adams is insistent, Kita and Alex are forced to work together. Soon finding themselves dangerously and heatedly attracted one another, both find it difficult to focus on the job at hand over their attraction.

The mystery and suspense was constant and always kept my mind running to figure out it. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series!

A quick read but it is so full of action and suspense that you don't want it to end. This can be read as a stand alone book, this is the first book in the series. This book has a good balance of romance and suspense. I cant wait for more in this series, what a fab start it is. This author never disappoints in any of there books.

Highly recommended

Seriously enjoyable read. Kita takes her damaging childhood to do good working for a "pr" agency. Meanwhile Alex's childhood trauma constrains him in his job as a US Marshal. He follows the rules because he fears not following them will lead to someone being harmed. Kita makes him see that bending the rules for the greater good can sometimes be necessary. Kita saving Hannah and the kids helped Alex put things in perspective. Their steamy hot romance was a great bonus to the drama to be had by someone stalking the philandering judge. Looking forward to, hopefully, a book about Marsh. The references to him had me intrigued.

Stalked

This novella is part of a new series, which spins off from Hughey's Family Stone series.

I really loved this book, it's a fast paced, action packed romantic suspense novella that won't fail to entertain. The characters had substance and made me feel part of the story. This is my first Lisa Hughes book and it most definitely won't be my last!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher. 4*

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

A sexual smash up the likes of which leaves nothing but smoldering ruins behind. This train wreck between a hero who is the consummate rule follower and a heroine who skirts the rules and breaks the ones that stand in her way is sure to end badly, very badly, unless one of them can change.

Alex is with the Marshals service and follows their rules to the letter and beyond. His current job is to find out who is behind the threats to a Federal Judge. Judge Adams has requested the services of ALIAS - Adams, Larsen, and Associates, an image consulting group, and Kita has been assigned. Alex is over the top annoyed with being saddled with a PR operative. Operative being the key word here. ALIAS is a whole lot more than a PR firm and Kita has skills that Alex can't even fathom.

This is my first book by Lisa Hughey and I loved this book. It will not be my last. Despite moments of angst and the lust at first sight, it has a very good plot and the baddie was a surprise to me. More and more wonderful authors are electing to go the self-publishing route and that is their choice. I am more than happy when I discover a great author and am able to share them with all my friends.

A new series for ALIAS with Kita who must defend a Federal Judge along with the help of US Marshal Alex , who is a rule follower. These two come together even while trying to reconcile the clues to solve their case. Good mystery with romantic suspense with these characters and leads into more in this series. A stand alone book.

Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions my own.

I actually found the subplot more intriguing than the main conflict and wish I had got to read her story, but this was a really good book and worth the read for anyone who was more intrigue in their romance books.

This is implausible in spots but Alex and Kita are so appealing and it's a well written fast read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC- you will like this if you enjoy romantic suspense/law enforcement novels. It made for a good afternoon read.

Lisa Hughey has always written good Romantic Suspense and this one is equal to all her others. Smart Ass broken Kita goes head to head with rules following Alex to protect one sleazy Judge.
Stalked is a new series by author Lisa Hughey and has potential to be a fun series to follow.
The one things I personally as a reader dislike is sexual attraction or Instra love that involves non stop thoughts of sex because the characters going from depth to superficial making the story almost unbelievable. With the current romantic suspense there is sex scenes which or explicit but personal I skipped it because it didn't add anything to the story. Always it was mind blown changing experience.
The twist where Alex fines more emotional connection and Kita finds a release from stress comes from their backgrounds being so different.
I plan to read more in this series.

Received Advance Copy from Netgalley. Thoughts expressed are my own.

A federal judge is being threaten and besides the protection provided by the U.S. Marshall Service the judge also wants the PR firm that his son owns. You find out later that the firm is much more than PR. The only agent that is available at the time is Kita Kim she really does not want the assignment and lets her feelings known. She also does not have a choice in the matter. She is teamed with Marshall Alex Saunders. Let’s just say this match is like oil and water. Alex is a rule follower and of course Kim is not which only drives him crazy. Which just being around is bad enough because he cannot figure out why he is attracted to her. This attraction adds to the story. When you are deep in the story you find out that Kim is actually ex CIA and also has mad computer skills. There is plenty of non-stop action on who is trying to kill the judge, also some hot scenes in the bedroom, and the mystery of the story will keep you going to the end. There is also a separate case that Kim is working on herself that adds to the following the rules and not. Overall a good story. I really liked the Kim character and her story.
