Full Service Blonde

This is the second Copper Black book I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Copper is a fitting tribute to all the "intrepid, case-solving, women" who have come before her. She is certainly a direct, and adorable descendant of Nancy Drew and Kinsey Milhone. This book was absolutely a delightful read. It serves as a prequel to her earlier book GETTING OFF ON FRANK SINATRA. It certainly helps set the stage and introduce the various family members and sub-plots. I can see many of them coming up again in the (long) future of this series.

On many levels this is a more interesting read for people like myself who have spent a significant amount of time in: Las Vegas and reading all the female mysteries with various heroines. This one is young and fresh, with an entire cast of characters who are ready to appear in many more adventures with Copper. I dislike books with too many characters, this seems just right. I also found the ending provided realistic closure.

Okay, Megan keep writing these delicious reads and allow me to keep reading them. YUMMY!

I loved reading [book:Getting Off On Frank Sinatra|31213460], so I was very excited to be given the opportunity to read Full Service Blonde. Megan Edwards certainly didn't disappoint in her second novel in the Copper Black series. While this book had a greater focus on character development and less on action, it still contained enough mystery and murder to keep you intrigued to the last page.
Full Service Blonde is a perfect, light beach read if you like a little bit of murder and prostitutes with your romance!

Okay, I loved this book. It’s short, sassy, and packed to the brim with murder, mystery, and some controversial issues to boot. Even though the subject matter wasn’t light, it was presented in such a manner that I never felt the need to take a break. This didn’t have the intense emotional ride that comes with some of the darker psychological thrillers, but I don’t think that Full Service Blonde was ever intended to be so dark and twisty that you need a few days to recover. The balance between humour, investigation, and stepping into some questionable situations was really well done.

Would I recommend this book? Oh, heck yes! It’s the perfect book to accompany your winter vacation when it comes out this fall.

Megan Edwards did a great job developing an interesting and unique plot for a book. Cooper is a tough, determined, empowered women in a field where man seem to dominate, but it is not stopping her. The relationship that Cooper has with her coworkers David especially makes the reader wonder what direction the story will go and makes you wonder if the true story(stories) will ever be found out. Because Cooper is so determined to find the truth a help everyone at the same time, people begin to question if she is doing the right thing but no matter what she will not stop.

This is a fun read that gives you a real feel for a complex character that you'd only find in Los Vegas. Copper is a young reporter doing light stories when she meets Victoria, a sex worker who is standing up for herself and others in her industry. When Victoria is found dead, Copper is the only one interested in finding out why.

I'm a huge Megan Edwards fan and was so excited to read Full Service Blonde as I had read her other Copper Black novel. This one did not disappoint! Smart and sassy Copper is a "take no prisoners" twenty-four-year old journalist working in Vegas. With a quirky family and long-distance boyfriend, Copper takes on the murder of a prostitute and also discovers a plot that targets her brother. With lots of humor and great details about Vegas, this novel showcases Copper as a no-nonsense, intrepid young woman with a zest for life who won't back down in the face of adversity! Another winner!

This is my first book by this author and I'm happy to say that it was an enjoyable experience. The story was realistic and entertaining with fleshed out characters and an intriguing plot. I look forward to reading books from this author in the future.

I haven't read any book from Megan Edwards before Full Service Blonde but it's a beautiful discovery. I really enjoyed this light mystery.

Entertaining look at Las Vegas. Having film developed at a one-hour place was my only clue as to the timeline. Otherwise this all could be happening today. Prostitution, land issues, romance and family problems, and more provide an engaging read.

I got to know Copper Black in Getting off on Frank Sinatra .. see my review HERE. She's a feisty journalist with an attitude I absolutely adore and a sense of humor I can laugh out loud to. I can see being real life friends with her. Here we are at a prequel to the Frank Sinatra book and we get to see how Copper fell in love with Las Vegas.

Being a girl who goes to Vegas yearly, I can see the absolute ability to fall in love with Sin City... it's not all just gambling, food, and shows, you know. Legalities are a little different and the people watching is beyond fantastic. Quite frankly, it's not that much different than NYC in my eyes.

We get a glimpse into Copper's personal life a bit more in this book - her relationships with her parents, her first love and her new co-workers. Beyond that, she tries to throw away all preconceived notions and do right by a prostitute - whether she believes in the morality of her work or not. All of this is done with a sharp sense of humor and the all too real struggle of trying to balance all parts of a busy life in a new city. Who HASN'T been there?

It's fun to see her get into her groove with her journalistic research and prowess as she gets comfortable with her somewhat sexist co-workers. She continually convinces herself with each move towards solving this murder mystery that this is definitely the job for her and that Vegas is absolutely the place she should be.

A moderately paced, fun mystery sprinkled with humor and life. I look forward to seeing where Copper ends up in future adventures.

It’s amazing how different this book is from the other by Megan Edwards I’ve read, Strings. That book was so fantastic I have no doubt it left a high mark for this one to strive for, and it came up far short.
In the end it felt like a whole lot of nothing. Copper goes everywhere but doesn’t do much. Some threads pick up halfway through, but this writing doesn’t remind me at all of the other book. It felt more like a slice-of-life than a mystery.
Strings seemed to take forever to read, but in a good way. This one took forever in the more usual sense.
The two main storylines made everything more complicated than it needed to be. I liked Copper, but I didn’t like Sierra, or many of the other characters, even the ones I was supposed to like. All the relationship stuff—hers, her parents’, etc.—just felt like too much, or the mystery she eventually solved too little.

Cooper is a journalist with an attitude. Cooper went to Las Vegas to get her first job working on a newspaper. Cooper wants to put out a good story so she can get the byline. Cooper’s family is a bit different and Cooper has a long distance boyfriend. Cooper takes on the story of a murdered prostitute and then she discover her brother who is a minster is also in danger. Victoria was stirring up the media , she was the tke top saleswoman for a makeup brand and had been a working girl before entering the contest and winning the contest. Victoria has given Cooper the exclusive rights as she wants to tell her story. But then Victoria ends up murdered. Coopers daily life seems to interfere with getting the job done. Cooper finds herself in the middle of the investigation and must release the story so justice is truly served.
I liked this story a lot. I laughed at times while reading this even though it involved a murder. I liked that Cooper wouldn’t back down type of person. I also liked the arthur showed us a little of the legal prostitution business in Las Vegas. I advise you to read the first book in this series to pull things together. I felt this was a well written book. Also i liked the plot as well as the pace a lot. I also liked the mystery involved in this book. I was however a bit disappointed with the ending. But i did really like the characters and the ins and outs in this book and I recommend.

I started this book and was hooked. Funny, dark and complex all at the same time it gives a lot of food for thought on very serious topics like environment and what is the person behind the sex worker.

Cooper Black is an up and coming journalist....at least she hopes so. She gets the change to meet Victoria McKimber, and outspoken prostitute in one of Los Vegas' brothels. This sounds like the break Copper needs, it will impress her boss, her parents and boyfriend! Copper's brother is a civic minded pastor who wants to help the homeless by getting a new center for them. Then Cooper gets the news that Victoria McKimber is dead! Oh no! Cooper decides to investigate her death and really gets involved in things over her head. Can she come out of it with the killer, a killer story, and make every one happy and proud? I loved Getting Off On Frank Sinatra, so I was excited to continue the series. This one fell just a bit flat for me.

I loved this fast paced murder mystery that was full of suspense!😍 This book kept me turning pages through the night and I fell in love with the smart and sassy main character! Highly recommend!

Full Service Blonde was the second book in the great series of Copper Black. She's back with a fascinating look at the mostly fictional Vegas "other side". Away from the glitz of the Strip and the beautiful hotel's. The characters were complex , blending humor and drama. A bit of mystery on the side and you have a entertaining read.

Full Service Blonde indeed. A great concept for a story. Behind the scenes at the house of ill repute. I liked the Madame, and I appreciate what she was actually trying to do. Copper Black is witty and brave and dynamic. I like her. I wasn't sure what to expect from this story. It's better than anticipated. The plot is solid and unfolds very well. I read this fairly quickly because it's so good. I recommend this one. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I was drawn in by the cover and didn't know quite what to expect, but found myself turning to this one eagerly. A throwback to the detective movies I've always enjoyed. Copper is a feisty and entertaining character, so I'm looking forward to her disentangling more mysteries.

I read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of Getting Off on Frank Sinatra in 2016 and then a few years later I saw this book. I had to read it.

Copper Black is a 24 year old feisty journalist with an attitude. I laughed out loud many times.
Megan Edwards has become a go to author for me. I love Copper’s independence, confidence, and her family and friend relationships.

I also gained insight into how Copper fell in love with Las Vegas.

I am so glad I was able to get this from the read now shelf at Netgalley. These are my own opinions.

This book really suprised me, because honeslty most of the mystery kind of books i've read hasn't been my cup of tea. But i really liked this one, i think it helped that the main character was smart and witty! it gave the book life in a different way. I'd love to read the next book in the series.

Full Service Blonde was a quick little mystery for me and I really enjoyed it. I have not read Megan Edward's previous book GETTING OFF ON FRANK SINATRA but that was not a problem for understanding the details of this book.
Journalist Copper Black is a hard working girl trying to make her way in "Sin City' when she meets Victoria McKimber, a prostitute who works legally in a local brothel. Victoria wants Copper to write an exclusive story about her, but before Copper can complete the task Victoria is found dead. Copper tries her darndest to get to the bottom of the murder, endangering herself and her family in the process.

I love Las Vegas and appreciated the description of the setting. Mysteries are my favorite genre and this one ticks off all the boxes for a good one.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

Copper Black is a young journalist in Las Vegas just itching for her first big byline. In the meantime though, she’s stuck editing the weekly entertainment calendar and getting coffee for her boss. When a colleague invites her to tag along on an interview with Victoria McKimber, one of Nevada’s legal prostitutes, Copper jumps at the chance. After all, this could be just the break-out story she’s been hoping for. However, when Victoria is found dead a few days later, Copper finds herself delving into something much darker and more dangerous than she initially thought.

I read this book after first reading Getting Off on Frank Sinatra. Even though “Frank” is technically book #1 and “Blonde” is a prequel, you can really read them in either order. If you want to go chronologically, though, I would recommend starting with “Blonde”.

Copper is a fun and adventuress character. She’s also very thoughtful and tends to listen to other people’s ideas and beliefs. This allows the reader to do the same with complicated issues that Copper encounters like prostitution and mental health.

I love the sense of place that the author brings to the book. As someone who has lived in Southern Nevada for the last three years, I enjoyed the little true-to-life details like how to pronounce Nevada and the goddess temple in the middle of the desert.
