I really enjoyed this story. When it's love time doesn't matter. I like how they both got to put their to rest on the same night and moved on to their forever.

This is cute and the premise is fun. I like the development of Penny and Del's relationship, but am not a big fan of all the drama. These people are old enough that high school exes should be behind them (and the blatant stereotypes are off-putting).

This was a lot like a Hallmark movie - quaint characters who are incredibly wholesome, light and trite story (I feel like kindergarten through 3rd grade is a bit too young for any "romance" foundation, but I guess that's me), evil & shallow villains, suspension of belief left & right...

I couldn't help but feel that this was very old-fashioned as well. The characters and the word choices, the dialogue... It had a bit of a politeness to it that felt like it should have been set in the 40s or 50s.

Not really my cup of tea, but it is a quick, short read.

Penny and her sister Abby had a shop called The Treasure Chest. The shop had inexpensive and mid priced prices and the greeting cards as the store was one of Baxter’s Greeting Cards signature stores.A lot of inventory needed to be sold each month to to pay the mortgage for the shop. Last year penny had an aborted wedding and still wasn’t really over it. This year they had the newest line of Christmas cards from a hot and abstract artist -Dale McLinlock- who is very mysterious and no one knows who this artist really is. Penny loved a good mystery and dale McLinlock qualified. The cards actually qualified as art. The artist would be presented at one of the stores that sold his cards. It was to be Abby’s and penny’s store and the artist would be revealed in four days. Penny had a feeling they had seen the artist before. Also Dale kept staring at Penny. Penny was the girl dale had a crush on from kindergarten til third grade he had even kissed her in third but moved away for fourth grade but he never forgot Penny. Then Dale had been Delbert. Penny had a crush on Delbert also but had been shy and never let him know. At the diner later on that night after the reveal Penny and Del/Dale she told Del she had went to Nashville to be a singer but she also wrote songs and penny fell in love with another struggling singer. Penny and Ricky collaborated on some songs that made Ricky famous but he never helped her like he said he would. Then after a couple years Penny left Nashville when Ricky was on tour and that was how she broke up with his cheating self. Then there had been Max - they were suppose to be married last Christmas Max had cheated on her with the pastry chef they were suppose to check wedding cakes at. So that was her two serious relationships ended at Christmas time. Del had been married right out of H S and it was to a girl Penny knew from school it had lasted six months- Sandra had cheated on Del. Abby’s and Penny’s grandmother helped make their life long dream come true as she left them a nice inheritance that helped them start their business. The sisters had the shop for three years now. Del asked Penny if she would like to see the house she had lived in and just purchased and then he asked her to help him place his furniture. But then Sandy showed up at the shop and left with Del and Ricky called Penny.
Excellent short story and I loved it. Even though this story wasn’t very long this didn’t lack in anything. Plot was excellent and this was just a fun story to read. I loved how Penny and Del had a childhood crush on each other. Although not always expressing things Penny and Del seemed to think a lot of the same things. I just loved this story and read this in one setting. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story. I highly recommend.

Thanks, NetGalley and Backlit PR

Thanks, NetGalley and Backlit PR for the chance to read Love’s in the cards in exchange of my hones opinion.
Penny is the co-owner of a greetings card store. Del is has been crushing on Penny since third grade.
It was obvious that the two of them would end up together even with the threat of old flames turning up.
This is a nice cosy easy seasonal read but a bit predictable.
Will share my review on Facebook, Goodreads, twitter, Amazon and word of mouth.

A sweet novella is about of two star crossed lovers who take a few wrong turns before finding each other. This is not a deep story, just a pleasant read that leaves you with a holiday good feeling.
