As a long time user of <i> Pink Himalayan Salt </i> when I heard that <b> Salt Block Grilling </b> was coming out I was super excited. I am always looking for a way to share my passions with my husband and this book is it. Salt Block Grilling feeds my inner foodie while my husband maintains reign of his territory: <b> The Grill. </b>


Set up in chapters of Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Vegetables and Fruit, Dairy and Dough this book covers a range of food preferences. Since we are a split household with me being meat-free, my husband being a typical carnivore and my children getting to pick a bit of everything Salt Block Grilling has something for everyone. I was surprised to find out that you can even cook eggs, yes, <i> eggs </i> on the salt block, and cookies! We have already made the Walnut Chuck Cookies and they were divine! Not overpowering with salt but a nice balance between sweet and salty. 

With Salt Block Grilling you do not need to feel overwhelmed by trying to figure out the how to's with endless internet research. Everything you need to know is included in the text. The book guides you to help pick out the right salt block, explains what tools are essential for your needs, and discusses proper care and handling of the block for an optimal long lasting investment.

Fascinating,& informative, I found this book amazing!! I knew nothing of Salt block grilling and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this, written by the kitchen master himself! This book not only has tasty recipes to get you going, but gives you the ins, the outs, the how to's the where to purchase, and how to take care of your salt block! Well written and thoroughly explained, this has everything you wanted to know, and then some, about Salt Block Grilling!!

I requested this out of curiosity....Cooking on Himalayan salt blocks??! Never even heard of it! Apparently it's really popular in America! If you are a newbie like me, don't worry, there is a great introduction on the origin of this style of cooking, scientific explanations on how it works, care and cleaning and what to look for when you are ready to buy your own block! Definitely a great help when you have no idea where to begin. The introduction is really written and very educational. Beautiful mouth-watering photos with categorical chapters e.g: Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Dough, Dairy etc. Can't wait to give this style of cooking a try and buy my own salt block :) Who wants to look hipster at their next BBQ? :D

P.S I really want to eat those salty-smoky flavoured walnut chocolate chunk cookies....mmmmmmmm gimme gimme

This book and its companion, Salt Block Cooking, are a great introduction to cooking on a Himalayan salt block. With so many delicious recipes, explained in detail, this is an invaluable book for backyard grillers everywhere. Innovative and exciting! Recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cookbook, and while there is no place around me to get a salt block (and I would worry about it breaking if I shipped it), I plan to look for one in the city soon. These recipes look amazing, and make my taste buds water. Can not wait to try them out.
