When she signs her dream listing, a multi-million dollar beachfront property in Laguna Beach, California, she’s sure her problems are behind her. And they would be, if it wasn’t for the secret in the basement and the body in an upstairs bedroom.

When the crime scene tape comes down, Gwen enlists the aid of a handsome co-worker with a background in construction to help her ready the house for sale and bolster her flagging courage. But every time they’re ready to put it back on the market, something goes horribly wrong. Gwen must face old fears and new ones, temptations and buried truths, if she’s going to survive.

Gwen Bishop is a real estate agentwho has landed a dream listing, only problem is the dead body in the bedroom, it’s the body of another estate agent.

Her husband Art is an acting principle of St Barnabas Lutheran School, if he wants the job to continue he will need the support of his wife at school functions.

Between juggling their jobs around their family of three children something will give. Neither of them want to lose what they have built up in their carrers, and cracks start to show in their marriage.

The murder of the estate agent is similar to others in Texas. This gives Art the excuse that Gwen should scale back her work or stop altoether.

There is alot going on in this book, with lots of quick chapters. The perspective of the murderer gives an insight into his life and his feelings, that gives him the justification for doing what he does. The story focuses more on Gwen than Art, giving her a better character, but there is enough abou Art to show him as a compassionate and caring man.

The story is about a relationship that is under pressure from work, murder and the lusting after what you want. Whether it is a sale, the better job or what you rightfully think is yours. I didn’t see the murderers identity in the story, when he was unmasked it was very subtle and had to go back , re-read that section to make sure i had read it right.

Because there are alot of quick chapters the story unfolds a little slower, allowing the characters to develop, and started to quicken up towards the end. A good read and would definitley recommend to others.

4 and 1 / 2 stars

This is the story of Gwen and Art, but also so much more. Art is a private high school principal with a heart bigger than all outdoors. Gwen is a real estate agent and has been with this agency for three years.

Gwen lands a contract with a multi-million dollar property fronting the ocean. It needs a lot of help, but she can somewhat set it to rights. She wants this sale very badly and is willing to do almost anything to secure it.

She and her husband are feeling some distance in their marriage. Gwen is unwilling to go to his school events like other wives. Art is so tired from giving himself all the time, he feels as though there is not much left over for Gwen.

And…there is a serial killer on the loose who is targeting real estate agents. The police haven’t got a clue who is committing the murders. The real estate agency comes up with the idea of a buddy system. Gwen buddies up with Lance. Lance is a gorgeous younger man. You see the problem.

This book is about lust; the lust for a sale, the lust for justice and just plain old lust.

This is a very well written story. We get sufficient background on Gwen and the killer, but not so much on Art. The book is well plotted and moves along nicely. Greta Boris is a very good writer and I will definitely look into her other books.

I want to thank Netgalley and Fawkes Press for forwarding to me a copy of this very likeable book.

A good book overall, i enjoyed the entire story plot. I did find the book to be a slow read though, not the fast paced thriller reads I'm use to. It was a good story plot, i didn't expect the murderer to be someone they interacted with almost daily, but just something seemed to be missing from the plot. Most books i can dive into and forget everything and everyone around me, this book felt just that-a book; not an escape where you can picture yourself with the character. I would recommend to others, since others may find it more fit for them. Just personally wasn't one of my favorites.

A good marriage story with a thriller built in. This is what happens when as a couple's forget to communicate with each other and when life gets to busy. Enjoyed the build up but thought the end was squeezed in a little to quickly.
