I picked up this book without having read any of the previous books in this series. I really enjoyed the characters, the small town-ness, and the villains. Cricket is a strong female character that is making something out of her life in order to stop her small town from falling apart and to support her twins. Although she loved what she was doing in the beginning, the guilt of having her neighbors constantly come to her looking for jobs, she grew her business too fast and now is just trying to stay afloat. To top it all off, for the past six months there have been accidents, sabotage and violence against her and her business.

In comes Sam, who's trying to find his path after the military and has returned to town. Unbeknownst to him, he left Cricket with surprise five years ago and he's meandered his way back into town. Having recently left his job as a detective and discovering Cricket in danger, he steps in to help. Sam and Cricket must discover each other, and find a way to be a family all the while surviving whoever has a grudge against Cricket and her business.

Cricket and Sam--destined to be! I love Cricket's belief that she is responsible for saving her community. Great selflessness! But I equally love Sam's protectiveness....maybe even more. There is no question about his responsibilities as a father even though a short time ago he didn't even know they existed. The comradery of the brothers is inspirational. Lots of excitement to keep you turning pages! There were a few spots where I wanted more detail as far as emotions. For the example the deaths at the end--it's like it's just accepted--almost an objective observer POV. But I loved the great twist, so I didn't want it to be a "this is the way the world ends" conclusion.

Although this is the sixth title in the Wrong Never Felt So Right series, it's the first book by Nancy Brophy that I have read, and it can definitely be read as a stand alone.

The Wrong SEAL is a small town romance, featuring Cricket and Sam. Miscommunication, secrets, prejudice and family feuds abound in the Crenshaw Valley.

I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the female lead is quite strong, and like-able.

This is a well written, fast paced romance with elements of intrigue, suspense, danger and action, told from multiple points of view. I found Cricket and Sam's story to be engaging and entertaining and look forward to reading more of Nancy's work in the future.

The Wrong Seal: Small Towns Biggest Secrets is the sixth book in the Wrong Never Felt So Right series by author Nancy Brophy. What I like about this particular book is I didn't have to read the other books In the series to understand this one. I have never read Ms. Brophy before so I was happy I could pick up this series in the middle and not be lost.
Sam is a navy seal. He has seen some of the worse places on Earth. He is pretty cynical but he also is very kind. He has not lost the humanity in him to what he has seen. He is protective, alpha like, and just a person you would want on your side in a fight.
Imogene or Cricket as she would prefer to be called, she is a spit fire. She has young children. Someone is trying to kill them but she is able to keep her wits about her. She might need help but she is not a helpless character.
Sam has always wanted Cricket, but she was with his best friend. Or so he thought. So he stayed away. Now that she needs him though nothing on Earth will keep him away.
This is a great romance. I love Sam he is a perfect flawed hero. I like my heroes a little flawed. And Cricket she is a fiery soul with gumption and drive. I like strong heroines. I would love to continue with this series and see what happens next. I would even go back to read the ones that I have missed. If you like suspenseful romance this one is a great read.


Five Shooting Stars

Really liked this book and I really liked Sam and Cricket together. They were a good couple in this book and this is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a standalone. A great great read can't wait for more from this series. Would recommend to all and left review on Amazon.uk

I found the story be very interesting. Good plot and romance.

This reads like a really good category romance from maybe the Harlequin Suspense line, despite the fact that it's indie-author published. Sam and Cricket are a great couple and the author does a terrific job of not making Cricket's twins not too 'Plot Moppet'. There are plenty of twists and turns to the plot and a rather shocking ending that I didn't see coming, and even though it's fifth in a series it reads perfectly well as a standalone, which isn't easy to pull off. I've seen professionally published authors do a lot worse.

I'd encourage the author to pitch her work to Harlequin or similar category romance publishers; it would hugely increase her readership and she'd get access to professional editing. While The Wrong SEAL isn't badly edited, there are a few proofing errors that have clearly slipped through the cracks.

Four stars, but with a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing where this author goes in the future!

"The Wrong Seal" is an emotional story and my first book by Nancy Brophy. I love small town romance stories, and this one did not disappoint. Sam and Cricket battle to save themselves and Cricket's twins from a killer. It gives us a peek into small town life where the law does not seem to apply to outsiders. The story is a quick read, with romance, suspense, secrets exposed,and with twists and turns that will keep the reader guessing as to the person responsible. Sam, as a Navy Seal, is no novice when it comes to seeing what the world is like when it comes to greed and protecting those that are important to him. His brothers and wives are a part of the story and brings it all to a HEA conclusion for the reader. I look forward to reading more from this author, as I would like to go back and read the series from the start. It can be read as a standalone, and I recommend it for suspense readers that love military romance. I would like to thank NetGalley for gifting me "The Wrong Seal". My opinion is my own. She has been dealing with break ins at her work and finally last draw came when someone was shooting at her home while she was with her 4 year old twins. She wanted to solve the issue but it never came easy. Living in a small town has it’s perks and problems. Now faced with Sam, she knew rumors will travel fast.
Cricket didn’t know why Sam was back. When Sam sees her twins, things seemed different. They looked very familiar and math didn’t add up with Mike’s death and kids birth. He had is suspicion but he needed to solve the crime for Cricket. His detective instinct took over and decided to help her out.
Cricket was amazed at how her kids were welcoming Sam into their lives soon as he was trying to help. Even her shy daughter was showing affection to SEAL like Sam. Now he wants different things, he doesn’t want to live Cricket alone and he wants to protect her..
Cricket has been keeping a secret from everyone about her twins. Now she is faced with truth. She wants to protect her kids from all the chaos around her. But can she trust Sam and open up to him or will he run away like he did before.

This is first book from this series i have read and this book can be stand alone book. Sam had his brothers and i am sure they have very interesting stories. Now I am carious to find out about their stories. This book has enough romance, suspense and small town drama with twist.

A solid story rife with romance, intrigue, vandalism, and a family feud. Sam and Cricket are two strong characters who have chemistry and a history...they both are solid lead characters who carry the story well. The twins were a great foil to the heaviness of the story. A series story that reads well as a stand alone.

Say "SEAL" hero and I'm usually hooked. Add long lost love and a small town vibe and there I am. Sometimes I love the hero and can't stand the heroine or vice versa. In this one both hero and heroine were smart, strong, and deserved their own individual and joint happiness. I was intrigued from the start with Cricket - love a strong woman/mother. Add in sexy, alpha Sam and what really could go wrong? Not much. Enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the story. A little drama, some sex, not too much angst and it was a solid, enjoyable read.
